The Way to Treasure Island is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book about a little girl called Matilda and her dad.

Matilda and dad don't always agree on everything but they always manage to have fun together, They are complete opposites of each other Matilda is neat, Dad is messy Matilda is quiet, Dad is loud but they accept each other for their differences and have more fun together because if these differences.

They go on an adventure to find treasure in an island and disagree all the way, but end up having the best time together!
I really loved the beautiful treasure they found together too.
This book teaches children it's not all about money and wealth its about the little things and beauty around us that are even more amazing! I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I was just mesmerised by this lovely colourful cover, Plus I do love treasure so of course I had to request this book and read it,

Meet Matilda and her dad, They are polar opposites. Matilda is more serious and follows maps perfectly, her dad gets distracted easily and would rather take a longer route if that means more interesting things.
We see the two of them go on adventure when a map is found, During that journey both of them will find out that despite being polar opposites they need each other to make things work.
Plus, with her dad noticing all the things a skill I also have the journey came way more adventurous and interesting.

I wasn't a fan of Matilda during a big part of the book, I do love serious characters, but she took things a bit TOO serious, A treasure hunt is meant to be enjoyed, Not something you need to do as if it is a lesson from school, It is a good thing her dad was there

otherwise she would have had a terribly boring trip and I wouldn't have read the book.

I did think it was hilarious that the kid was acting as the adult while the dad was often acting as the kid.

I do hope that both of them learn to appreciate each others skills that they will cooperate better next time there is a treasure hunt.
At the ending we already saw a glimpse of it, so I have high hopes for their next adventures.

The art was pretty nice, I do like how the characters were drawn, and it was also great fun seeing those big spreads though they don't entirely work on a pc on which I can only see one half of the page each time.

All in all, a fun book about two different characters, a treasure hunt, and appreciating each other's personalities.

first posted at sitelink com/ The Way To Treasure Island by Lizzy Stewart is a beautiful story about the bond between a father and daughter, and reminds young readers that if we all embrace our differences, life will be more fun and rewarding.

Mathilda and her Dad couldn't be more different, When they set off together to find a hidden treasure, Dad is easily distracted and Mathilda is frustrated that he is not as focused as she is on the task at hand.
When they find the treasure together, they recognize that their differences have ultimately brought them to the same place, and recognize the joy that comes from sharing our experiences with those we love.

With beautiful illustrations and a positive message, this lovely book will be a nice addition to any bookshelf.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group Frances Lincoln Children's Books for an ARC, I was delighted to receive this as a digital copy to review, I love Lizzy Stewart's illustrations, and even wrote an essay on her in my first year of university.
As expected, I loved it! She adds such lovely detail to her work, and the illustration style is full of texture.
Her illustrations are always so varied, focusing mainly on zooming in and out of the scenes, Really adds interest and pace, There were some beautiful full page spreads, scenes of nature within the sea and on the island, so lovely and detailed you could spend ages looking at each little creature she added in.
Text was placed with careful treatment, was nice when certain words were pulled out in larger font size for emphasis to bring the story along.
As for the story, it was an amazing little adventure that paired well with the illustrations, There was a nice relationship between father and daughter, I enjoyed the exaggeration of their opposite traits, one is very direct sticking to the map, while the other full of wonder and up for an explore.
It was great that the story showed we need a little bit of both to make the best of adventures.
Just lovely! Will certainly be picking up a copy when this is released, From its beautiful and colorful illustrations to the sweet story, I 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 everything about this book,

This adorable adventure is the perfect way to teach children if you compromise and embrace each others differences, they can still have fun with those who are their exact opposite.

This sweet story is fun, engaging, colorful, and perfect for toddlers all the way through early elementary.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.
'The Way To Treasure Island' with words and pictures by Lizzy Stewart is a picture book about an adventure and how two different people approach it very differently.

Matilda and her dad are very different, They approach things in opposite ways, When Matilda gets a treasure map, she wants to head right for it, Her father believes the journey has lots of interesting distractions along the way, Eventually, Matilda ditches her dad in her quest, and the book follows them both until they discover the treasure, and a pretty good life lesson.

I liked this fun book about how different people can learn to get along, I also like that it felt like the roles were a bit reversed, The illustrations are fun, and the lesson is gentle but not hard to miss,

I received a review copy of this ebook from Quarto Publishing Group Frances Lincoln Childrens, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook, Matilda and her dad are very different, Matilda is fast and Dad is slow, Matilda is tidy and Dad is messy, and Matilda is quiet and Dad is very, very loud, They're off to find treasure, but Dad keeps getting distracted, Soon, they're lost and Matilda is getting crosser and crosser

Will they ever find the way to treasure island

This funny, adventurepacked story teaches children that even though people are different, they can still have fun together.
By the author of the bestselling There's a Tiger in the Garden and Juniper Jupiter.
This was an adorable book, This is the story of Matilda going on a treasure hunt with her dad and getting lost in the way.
It was a sweet father daughter story, The illustrations and coloring was absolutely stunning, A great book! The Way to Treasure Island by Lizzy Stewart is an adorable tale of a father and daughter who are complete opposites.
As Matilda and her dad set off to find Treasure Island, they get lost along the way, due to their differences in opinion, but have a lot of fun.
The true treasure is the relationship between them,

This story is beautifully written and the illustrations are lovely, I recommend this book for home libraries for fathers and daughters to share a love of reading and spending time together.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was fun to read but I wish the dad was the responsible kind,

And yes, the child being more mature and realistic is a bit uncomfortable for me to read.

But the know the purpose of the same, The fatherdaughter duo gets a chance to explore places when they get lost,

I love the idea,

And I love the illustrations, Basic and beautiful.

Thank you, authors and publisher, for the advance reading copy, The Way to Treasure Island by Lizzy Stewart is a whimsical children's picture book about Mathilda, an extremely logical and organized child, and her pretty absentminded honestly kinda useless but fun and creative father who go on an adventure together following a treasure map.
The art is bright and full of movement, teeming with depictions of nature, Lessons to take away from this include the benefits of working with people who have different temperaments and abilities, and of stopping to appreciate the beauty around us, and of how much easier life can be when we follow directions.

It's not a bad story, but I don't love it, and am not sure I'd think to recommend it for kids.
The father really is silly and irresponsible on level with a golden retriever much of the time, and I don't enjoy stories that normalize parentalized children and irresponsible parents.
Also, the treasure is going to be a let down for most readers, I get what the author was trying to say about appreciating the beauty of nature, but it really felt anticlimactic after all Matilda's work herding her father and following the map.
Like there could have been better ways to represent the principles the author was trying to convey, So for me this story is just OK,

Thanks anyway to NetGalley and Quarto for granting me a temporary digital advanced copy of TheWayToTreasureIsland in exchange for my honest review.
This is one for the dads to read to their kids as both dad and daughter go off on a treasure hunting adventure.
Dad is slightly stereotyped if I'm honest, but the story is about coming together and realising that life is richer when the journey is shared.
The illustrations are very engaging with some nice feature pictures at key moments in the story, This hardback edition has also been well produced and features a lovely texture applied to the cover, A very sweet story about how differences are important written around a treasure hunt! Matilda and her dad are completely different and as such, can get frustrated with each other.
That doesn't mean they don't both bring something to their adventures, Beautifully drawn, full of bright colors, this would be a good book to discuss differences, strengths, and weaknesses.

This will be a book that I read with my class!,
