If you have not read the first two books in this series, stop reading, Go get them. And read them. Then come back. It is worth it I promise! Heres my review of book one: sitelink unleashingreaders. com/p .
As for book, The Red Maze, it starts off with a bang as we learn what happened to Jax as he recaps for Oona and An Tzu.
The trio are on their way to Moon Yatta to complete their mission of lighting the red beacon.
It jumps right into where bookleft off,
Like the others, the story is full of adventure, battles, betrayal, surprises,
I love the underdog trio that are fighting to save the world.
They are fearless and so empathetic, putting their lives on the line to save all, An Tzu is especially interesting as we are still looking for a reason for his rare disappearing illness.

This is the third book in theworld series where Oona and her friends must light the Red beacon.
I found this installment to be a bit boring and slow, I did like the introduction of the new character, Zelle and would have liked to know more about her.
I still do like the colourful panels but I wish there was more to the story then what I was given.
Another solid installment!
And wow! A puppet leader, Forcing propaganda on the masses, Making a bogeyman of a group of people, Undermining democracy by rigging elections, Could we get any more real life Yup.
Cool! In the acknowledgements they thank the inspiration of Rebecca Sugar!
Now when does bookcome out Mayaccording to the Goodreads entry.
This book was fantastic! Definitely my favorite so far it felt like the plot ran smoother somehow.
I really love how this series approaches multiple heavy concepts, Things like groupthink, corporate greed, and the
subjugation of minorities is tackled in a way that still keeps the story smooth and understandable for younger kids while still hitting those heavy notes for older readers.
Plus, the art and characters are great, I'm really loving this series! Oona and friends are off to light the Red Beacon on Moon Yatta.
They discovered the beacons have to be lit in order, which is why they were unable to light the Blue Beacon.
Jax is taken back to the starball team he played for before and its nefarious owners.
Oona and An Tzu attempt to reach the beacon which is covered in machinery, The Mimic is on this planet too in the form of Stan Moon, a powerful individual who controls much of the planet.
They must navigate the red maze around the beacon, rescue Jax and light the beacon all while under the eye of the Mimic.
I love this series and will be sorry to see it end, I enjoy the growth of all three of our main characters, Oona learns even more about sand dancing and creating portals from Zelle, rebel of Moon Yatta.
An Tzu becomes less visible, but gains a prostethic arm and leg, And we learn that Jax has merged with a sacred spirit and become more human and less android.
Fantastic storytelling and illustrations. I absolutely love the world building in this series! Can't wait for book, Delightful, as always. Theres a lot of things to love aboutWhere are two:
The poetry of an android built with an intentional blank space at his center, the reason why he feels a very human longing.
The critique of unfettered capitalism, Gotta love any book that intentionally parallels Trumps election to president, Wow a book just could not but down amazing and fun to read, I read it really quick and I hope you find interest in reading it
Bye and If you Liked THis review send me a friend request TheWorlds series keeps getting better and better! Now that Oona is gaining more recognition as the Light of Beacons and her friends alongside of her, her task becomes even more dangerous, for the Mimic is still at large and working against them.
"Then let go of the impossible, Set down that burden and trust, "
This third installment of theWorlds series provides great complexity and depth of character and world building.
It portrays human greed and corruption, media manipulation, questions about artificial life, and the doubts and fears that hold us back.
The red maze itself is both literal, as an external force that prevents our heroes from lighting the beacon, and figurative, as the internal force that creates doubt within.
"We each have a red maze inside of us, It keeps us from seeing what we need to see, "
The characters continue to grow and mature from their experiences, Finding herself up against a wall she cannot break down on her own, Oona seeks a mentor to teach her more about her magic, and she gains more self confidence in the process.
Jax confronts his owner and learns to relate with humans on a deeper level, An Tzu learns there is more to his dreams and becomes a guiding force to the team.
In order to move forward, each character will have to confront the “red maze” inside of themOona most of all, as the five worlds hope for lighting the Red Beacon.
"The thing about a maze is, you cant figure it out when youre inside of it.
You can only see the pattern from above, "
This is by far my favorite book of the series thus far, It raises the stakes and tensions even as Oona and co, learn how deeply the Mimic has corrupted the five worlds, Im so hyped for The Amber Anthem, book four in theWorlds series!
Bonus Features:
The back of the book includes sketches depicting character development and world building.
In addition, it features fan art from the community and provides directions to submit your fan art to the creators!
INITIAL THOUGHTS
This series keeps getting better and better.
I'm so hyped for book! Read this book pretty fast because I was so excited about the story and WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK! I.
CAN. NOT. WAIT. UNTIL. THE. NEXT. ONE. I am so sad I could cry, Just kidding. But holy balls this is such an amazing series, All of them have such beautiful illustrations and the story doesn't disappoint! I was shocked, surprised, sad, glad, and amazed with this story.
ALL THE FEELS. Maycan't come soon enough!
Also makes me want to cosplay Oona Lee which makes me really excited.
Was this middle grades fantasy graphic novel an unexpected and searing indictment of America's corporate greed and mistreatment of the indigenous and the planet as a whole Yes.
And it was fantastic. Here for it. Glad to see my child getting a taste for all of this in a story full of brave and goodhearted characters, that also primes her for important conversations to come.
The way the Mimic ahem, Satan, anyone acts through politics, figure heads, and news outlets is absolutely relevant, as well.
And the art was once again just stunning, Bravo. For more reviews, check out my blog: sitelinkCraftCycle
Another gorgeous, amazing, wonderful read in theWorlds series.
This is just such a great all around series, I love the characters, love the story, and, most of all, love the artwork,
There are plenty of twists and turns in the third book, making for a splendid reading experience, complete with new characters, new issues, and new creative solutions.
I really can't get enough of this series and am really looking forward to reading the fourth book to find out what happens next.
Great read! this whole series is just so absolutley lovely, i can't help but give bookas well.
alas, i love that this series is LITerally beautiful,
the cast is diverse with real proportions and variety of skintones,
there's magic and so much left to visuals instead of language, it's refreshing to step away from fullon prose every now and then.
but now i need a break from any fantasy/scifi that deals with politics unintentional, perhaps, but sure is a storyline these days, and exhausting because it hurts to look at reality in the same lens.
series appropriate for all agegroups,
very inspiring for aspiring artists, too, it's just so pretty amp welldone!!
unlike so many graphic novels that only spend time on the cover, the whole insides are stunning as well!! all the colours!!! :D The third volume of the amazingWorlds series deals with corporatism, racism, and media manipulation.
Reading this for the first time during Trump's tenure as PotUS hit differently but I mean what's really changed since then And the Alex Jones parody is still hilarious.
Amazing addition to this series, It just keeps getting better, The art and plot are increasingly complex, This time the went to Moon Yatta: where a popular entertainer has assumed the presidency promising to crack down on foreigners.
.really. Great fantasy series for kids and teens engaging characters and an epic quest with good vs.
evil. Fun to read. It keeps getting better. At this point, I am obsessed with this series, Think Star Wars meets Avatar: The Last Airbender!
In book, Oona Lee is determined to light Moon Yattas beacon and continue her quest to save the galaxy.
But reaching the red beacon means navigating an impossible maze of pipes and facing devious enemies at every turn.
Luckily, her friend Jax Amboy has returned from his adventures transformed! Now he must confront the owner of his former starball team, a ruthless businessman who will stop at nothing to get his best player back on the field.
. . and who can grant them access to the beacon, Meanwhile, Oona and An Tzu find a mysterious rebel leader and release a surprising power within Oonas magic.
Will they make it in time to stop the evil force seeking to rule theWorlds.
