When you run away from your life it will always catch up with you, It's how you deal with it is what counts,

Both the characters have had things in there life that they are not proud, But when they come to light they find that together they can overcome them together, Love and friendship can overcome anything,

This is book three in the series and another wonderful story, I hope that there will be more to come! Loved it! Third amp final of the series which I devoured in one long weekend.
These are books you want to last forever but can't put down, My first foray into Mia West who now resides on my favorites list, I just love her characters and her writing style is emotional and honest, can't get enough! I wish I had read this slower.
Im so sad to see the series end, Wish there was more, Grizzly Rim have so many more stories to tell, Well done. Really. Well done.

Its like this book was written just for me, Imagine my pleasant surprise when I quickly realized that Mia West this ones my first is a very good writer, Dare I say, even literary Ive gotten too used to slashfic novels reading like the work of horny highschoolers turning in their sexual fantasies for English class creative writing projects.


Not a single cringeworthy line in this one, unless its meant as adorable banter, Heres my favorite:

This is a really sweet and satisfying friends to lovers story.
The fact that theyre shifters seems more metaphor than reality, its that secondary and again, literary, The high drama of “secrets” promised by the abstract is also a bit misleading who cares when all you need is the slow burn romance of Mac and Charlie discovering each other Its enough, more than enough.
The heat is hot, but sweet and tender too,

When browsing Wests entire catalog, this was the only one that spoke to me, But now Ill have to read more,

It is not without some trepidation that I give thisstars, Thats some serious high praise, But it deserves it. My heart feels full.

Bloody brilliant series for sure I couldnt get enough of it, This is a great series that has a awesome spin off series which has book one Crash Course totally captures you right from the start.
These two series are a definite must have and read immediately for sure, This is my favorite of the series so far, I loved it, The MC's had the best friendstolovers thing going on, Their first time together was hawt with an "aw" and solidified these two as my favorite in this series, Embrace the Beast is the third, and what looks like the

final, book in the Grizzly Rim series, This series is about various shifters living in Alaska, This particular book focuses on Nate Landry, an otter shifter, and McKinley Mac Greer, a Grizzly shifter, The book is told in third person through both Nates and Macs povs,

This book is a friends to lovers tale, and the secrets that haunt the two characters, how they kept those secrets from each other, and the affect those secrets had on their relationship.


First, Nate isnt really Nate, he changed his name when he ran to Alaska, His real name is Charlie Beauchamp, Thats one secret we find out soon after the story opens,

The story starts shortly before the ending of the previous book, If I remember correctly, thats how the author did it with the second book too, She started the second book, before the ending of the first book, I wasnt sure I would like this method, but I think it works, The one thing I didnt like about the writing style, was that there was a lot of monologue, Im not a fan of monologue because most of the time it comes across as telling instead of showing, and thats what happened in this case.
Lots of telling, although the dialogue was better,

Charlie, being an otter shifter, has the same type of human personality, Hes friendly, chatty and active, Mac on the other hand is gruff, not very outgoing and minds his own business, I think they suited each other well and the author did a good job of bringing them together, I enjoyed how their relationship progressed, The one thing the author never tells us is what was it that lead to Charlies brothers death.
He drowned sure, but why was he in the water They werent on a job to rescue anyone, The other thing we never find out, is the past history of Macs alcoholism, What lead up to it, how he resolved it, and how he started his bar, I wanted to know Macs past, but we never learned much about it, even when Charlie asks him direct questions, so I felt almost like the characters were incomplete and brushed over.
It left me unsatisfied as to their history,

Embrace the Beast is a fast read and goes well with the first two books in the series.
We see a few of the returning characters from previous books in this one, This book feels more romance driven than the first two books, it also seems to take place more indoors, I enjoyed the dialogue and interaction of Charlie and Mac, even though Macs history felt incomplete, I didnt however, like the loads of monologue, I would guess half the book, if not more, is monologue, This leads to a lot of telling, Even though it does have telling, I probably enjoyed this book the most out of the three stories because Charlie and Mac already had a friendship and their friendship blossomed into love.
I give this story,.stars, but raise it to Stars, because of the connection between the characters,
