Take It Hit The Fan: Piney River Apocalypse Penned By John Sullins Expressed As E-Text
thats the tell as they say in Poker
Soooo, this book started out pretty good, Worlds ending pandemicwhich is timely and a couple decent protagonists both of which are male, Then the lead characters last name is Rideout, As in, Im gonna ride out this storm, Im gonna ride out these swells, Im going to ride out this apocalypse, Its distracting. The character depth is fairly thin and one of the male leads sleeps with a female the day he meets her, . . when her husband just died, . . who was a bad cop, Its pretty apparent its a male author, Im giving itbecause I finished it, At the end I wanted to give itstar, Its abrupt. On the positive side, this was a good fulllength and standalone book, There were also not evil bad guys lurking everywhere and not a lot of gratuitous violence, The premise of the plot had some good potential especially now with the coronavirus, However, there were some issues that badly undercut the positives, There were editing errors throughout the book with missing punctuation, grammar and spelling doller instead of dollar etc, The first page haspeople using an "aspirator" instead of a respirator an aspirator pulls fluid out of something, A lot of the sentence structure was very awkward and grammatically incorrect and at times made it hard to decipher what the author was trying to say.
Some of the plot details kept changing or were nonsensical, At the onset of the pandemic, Cliff and Jake take off work to camp and avoid the virus as it starts to become a serious threat and when Jake meets Amber, he tells her that he has been on the river for about a month also later Cliff notes on his phone that the virus appeared forty seven days before.
Yet, she tells him her husband died of the virus three months ago which is way before it had started to affect the population or was known to even exist.
There were reports thatmillion people in the US had died the president said overmillion, worldwidebillion deaths depending on the page, yet they always have cell service, TV reception with news, internet and electricity among other services.
The government decided on a ridiculous effort to stop the virus by burning buildings after announcing all of these deaths a bit late to stop it, This virus was highly contagious and nearmortality and services would have broken down fairly quickly, That and theguys findnice ladies to bond with just made me shake my head a lot, I really enjoyed it
It is an interesting take on an apocalypse, The characters are nicely drawn, I would have enjoyed more depth, It was sweet and slightly naive but a good read for all that, Wow i just got done reading your book and I will
Think about your book and what I would do if
Some like this happen
Margaret now on to your next book
I really liked this book !
This book has a great plot and great characters.
It wasn't the usual in depth multibook series, just a single book with minimal characters, Plain. Simple. But a great read for anyone who likes TEOTWAWKI type books, I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure what to say about this book
The title sounded good, the storyline sounded readable but the book itself was pretty boring , I expected action, fighting, protecting ones property but alas there was none of that, to
me it sounded more of a prediction to what the outcome of covidwould end like , should everyone start buying a canoe and live on lakes.
. just in case So it's okay, A different take on the genre and I appreciated it, A good proof read and consultation with various experts would make a huge difference, At one point, Amanda became Naomi the back Amanda a few sentences later, Some of the dialogue was a little too unnatural especially from the government and media, I feel there is plenty more for a series of stories, Please try to resist a kumbaya everybody just be nice to one another conclusion, When a deadly virus begins spreading around the world, they only way to survive is to get away from other people, When a Missouri school teacher is fired from his job, he heads to a small river to get away from his problems and the virus, It might be the best decision he ever made, .
