Unlock Now The Sánchez Tradition Fashioned By Anne Mather Available As Paperback
was a big favorite when I first started reading Harlequins, I reread again inand still enjoyed it, It was five years since Rachel had left her husband Andre Sanchez, and she was only coming to him now because he was the only one who could help her beloved father.
But the marriage had broken up in the first place because of the suffocating influence of the Sanchez family, Now there was a danger that Rachel would be swallowed up in it yet again,
Andre's eyes darkened, "You're still a member of this family, You're a Sanchez. "
Rachel shook her head, "I'm not. I'm Rachel Jardin!"
"You're Rachel Sanchez!" announced Andre harshly,
"I have plans for you, and you will do as your father wanted and follow them!"
"And if I disagree"
"You'll be destitute.
You've no money, on your own admission, you've no money, and I won't pay another cent into your London bank!"
Rachel felt defeated.
"You're a brute!" she said unevenly, "I hate you, Andre Sanchez!"
"You'll say that once too often, Rachel, " Without another word he brushed past her and went out the door, slamming it behind him, Με ένα Άρλεκιν ξεχνιέσαι Ok, I know this is old but this is definitely one of my favourite Harlequin books,
The book was published actually for the first time many years before I was born,if I am not mistaken, but it is still so fresh and good like mature red wine,
Anne Mather demostrates exactly how romance can be written effortlessly and perfectly, I always smile and feel good when I read this book,
There is a strong possessive millionaire with a private island who seeks revenge, his ex wife who seeks help and forgiveness, a huge old misunderstanding in the mix and a great love story.
Trust me it is a great book, if you are a romance books lover, Read it, if you can find it,
Very dated vintage Harlequin, rounding up, Domineering and controlling husband and an immature, bratty wife, theyve been apartyears, shesto his, which means they married when she was.
His angry reaction to a miscarriage was what pushed her to leave,
He has a new fiancé and is ready to divorce, but cant stop trying to control the wifes life.
After her fathers death which she finds out about after hes buriedhusband doesnt think she can handle the situation he sends her to Brazil to stay with his brother and SIL.
He shows up, spendsweeks with her, and on the final night, . . passion. Next morning Hes gone. His interfering sister shows up, shares a final insult from the husband lie and the wife heads back to London.
. . pregnant.
He eventually shows up admits he still loves her and she admits shes pregnant, all is well, The Sanchez Tradition
Their marriage has been a very rocky union, Years earlier their marriage was not easy on her, She hadn't grown up like he did, Money was not something she was used to let alone the many ways he kept her safe from those who wanted to harm her.
But when she lost her child he turned against her, So she left him. Now she needs his help with her father, But will he help He has now decided that they must finalize their divorce, What happens when the two come face to face once more Are their past feelings really gone Or is the spark still there Writing was good but MCs were apart most of the story and I didnt like them, even if H was a cruel jerk.
Lol A second chance story that doesn't pull any punches, The story opens with the h returning to the Bahamas after five years to find her estranged husband, She needs his help to save her alcoholic father from some legal troubles back in England, Their first meeting does not go well as he is with his fiance, Unbeknownst to the h, the H has filed for divorce
Even though we don't have his point of view, the hero was obviously smitten with the heroine.
The fiance seemed more like window dressing than a torrid affair, If you've quit smoking and are triggered easily don't read this one, They all smoke like chimneys including the heroine,
The heroine was still pretty immature throughout most of this story, but she did eventually grow up, While both the H/h make a lot of relationship mistakes, it's the kind of story to read if you're craving intensity and high emotion.
One of my favourites and remains a pleasant and enjoyable read, This is one of my keepers, This is the second Anne Mather harlequin I've picked up, and honestly, I don't think she's for me, Her plots are pretty directionless, and all the conflict between the hero and the heroine could be resolved by them just have a normal, open conversation about their feelings.
What's kind of funny is that they never do have that conversation, The heroine of this novel I have already forgotten her name, sorry leaves her husband because he's too controlling in the name of keeping her safe, and oh yeah, he blames her for having a miscarriage.
He truly is that terrible,
Now, in my opinion, the heroine did the right thing by just running from him, because as soon as she's forced back into her husband's orbit at the beginning of the book, she's surrounded once again by his family who thinks he walks on water and excuses his toxic bs because he's the "man of the family" or whatever.
Even the male lead's kindly mother who actually likes the heroine tries to get her to sympathize with his reaction to her miscarriage.
Totally normal stuff here. No misogyny in sight. /s
And you know what She actually does become susceptible to their line of thinking, Suddenly she's admitting that she behaved immaturely and was partially at fault which, . . no, she wasn't. She ends up right back where she started at the end of the novel, with none of her concerns really addressed.
Yes, the male lead gives a miniscule apology on the last page of the book, but it felt disingenuous to me, especially after the way he treated her the entire book.
It kind of felt like Anne Mather realized that yes, blaming a woman for miscarrying is probably one of the scummiest things you can do, and so she had to address it, even in just an offhand sentence.
What was never addressed was when the male lead I keep referring to him that way because honestly, I've forgotten his name too prepared a funeral for the heroine's father without even telling her he was dead, and then yelled at her for getting upset about it and "embarrassing him in public.
" He tells her she should be grateful to him because her father died in a gruesome way, and he didn't want her to see that.
I mean, did he forget that closed casket funerals are a thing Needless to say, I hate this guy, A lot.
Now, I read and love dark romance, You need only to look through my goodreads shelves to see that, I don't mind when people do bad things in romance and messed up relationships are fascinating to explore within the confines of fiction.
But I feel like there's a difference between a sexy villainous dark romance hero who will do anything to be with the heroine and what this guy was, which is a total slimeball who makes the heroine feel bad for going through traumatic experiences and worse, blames them on her own actions.
One star.
TW: gaslighting, racism So this was the first Harlequin that was published in my country!!OK, It was an interesting book with an interesting plot, A little bit more i wanted but ok, It was a quick read, As all Harlequin books are, But i enjoyed it all in all, : This was pretty good. I felt that we didn't get enough of an idea of what the hero really felt about the heroine, There weren't a lot of scenes of them together and communicating in any meaningful way, The ending was rather quick and I felt that more explaining could have been done, Still there were some nice angsty bits and it kept me entertained, What the ಠಠ.stars.
Mediocre. This novel was on the fence for me, I didn't really care for the hero, he was far too dominate, abusive and brooding for me, The heroine I felt horribly sorry for but at the end of the novel, I was quite satisfied with it.
.stars. Classic Anne Mather of the's with chain smoking h and medallion wearing H, accompanied by some borderline and cringeworthy racist dialogues/observations.
AM's characters have a huge age gap between them, The men are usually pushingand have already discovered the wisdom that comes with age, The women are usually much much younger with the maturity level of ayear old, This book features examples of both, The H was your typical older latin lover and the h was the very very young mostly mentally English girl without too much to recommend her.
Second chance love story develops between the two they were previously married before the h ran out on the H, complete with an OW who we see very little of, but hear a lot about.
Medium angst and minor interference from disapproving family members, And thats about all before the H decides he must have the h again,
Anne Mather is mostly hit or miss for me and this one leaned towards the latter category, It wasn't a great romance and the characters didn't have a memorable chemistry, But still very readable because of AM's writing style in general, Ok if you're looking for your average old school MampB read, It was five years since Rachel had left her husband Andre Sanchez, and she was only coming to him now because he was the only one who could help her beloved father.
But the marriage had broken up in the first place because of the
suffocating influence of the Sanchez family, Now there was a danger that Rachel would be swallowed up in it yet again,

Andre was a control freak and ended up leaving Rachel trying to prove herself because she never understood why he treated her like a child.
He never explained his reasons nor understood hers, This left them exchanging many harsh words until he moved out of their room, She felt rejected, unloved, and unwanted, She tried to forget by being to active which caused a tragic accident, Heartbroken she could not take his harsh words that blamed her and removed his love, . . so she left.
Now they meet againyears down the road as she needs his help, She finds not much has changed and he is still lord of all he sees, So she has a hard time asking, plus he has her replacement by his side, He is cruel to her still and she really believes he stopped loving her long ago, So his passion comes as a surprise to her and soon she falls in love again, Lies told by others soon tears them apart again and she leaves, He will have to hunt her down and win her back,
So much passion and so much pain, . made this an emotional read, . . and so enjoyable. Both characters are likable but needed a kick in the butt sometimes! And that sister, what a spoiled b!h! Mildred Grieveson was born on October,in England.
She had written all through her infant and junior years and on into her teens, the stories changing from childrens adventures to torrid gypsy passions.
Her mother used to gather these up from time to time, when her bedroom became too untidy, and dispose of them!Mildred has always wanted to write which is not to say she has always wanted to be a professional writer.
One the contrary, for years She wrote only for her own pleasure, and it wasnt until her husband suggested that she ought to send one of her stories to a publisher that they put several publishers names into a hat and pulled one out.
The trouble was, she never used to finish any of the stories, and Caroline, her first Mildred Grieveson was born on October,in England.

The trouble was, she never used to finish any of the stories, and Caroline, her first published book as Anne Mather, was the first book she'd actually completed.
She was newly married then, and her daughter was just a baby, and it was quite a job juggling her household chores and scribbling away in exercise books every chance she got.
Not very professional, as you can see, but that's the way it was, The rest as they say in history, And now, thanbooks later, she's literally excuse the pun staggered by what happened, She also published books as Caroline Fleming or Cardine Fleming, Her Anne Mather's novel, Leopard in the Snow, was developed into amovie, Mildred now has two grown up children, a son and daughter, and two adorable grandchildren, Abigail and Ben, sitelink.
