Receive Heresy Of Dragons Constructed By Erik Reid Available As Volume
loved this book!
Loved it, very humorous fun romp of action and adventure from start to finish.
Very well written is this age, I look forward to the sequel
Im not sure what the other readers were complaining about, I liked it just fine, Sure, Kyle can be annoying with his cockiness, pop culture references his friends will never understand, and horniness, but he changes for the better by the end of the book.
The action scenes were cool, I was hoping Kyle would get more hits in during the final battle, though, His relationship with his women is great, I hope the sequels expand on them more, particularly with Clara and Kaylee, Even with Lissa, their relationship is complex, Maybe shell finally trust him if the series
continues, He also got a chance to bed all three the latter during the final battle but still,
One of my favorite scenes is when he gets smoothers with kisses after nearly falling from too great a height.
Therere a lot of funny scenes here and there, If you like fantasy and harems, Id say check it out, Be warned though, therere some scenes that involve slavery and child trafficking and they can get uncomfortable, Its enough to make anyone shocked and appalled, Otherwise check it out. I almost put it down,
Kyle was a hard protag to endure the first couple of chapters, enough so that while I have not browsed reviews for the book I would not be surprised if several people had.
That said, I waited to see how far the rabbit hole went, I will recommend this book to anyone that likes harems without tropes and stories that are sexpositive, but not sexforward, We had three pretty good scenes here and I appreciate the author's work to not retread too much ground with them and make them experiences as Kyle actually bonded with his harem.
Coming back to the rabbithole, I read this in one sitting as it drew me in Kyle's dislike of details and exposition was a little frustrating, but it made the story digestible as I didn't have a lot of the plot dumped into my lap to slog through as with some stories.
I will also be honest the memes and references got slightly old, but that was also an especially natural and realistic touch to Kyle's personality, and I am glad I got to see him grow rather than remain stale whitebread that is just skirting above neckbeard niceguy territory as is a bit of a problem with a lot of harem stories.
The pacing was strong, it had natural ups and downs but nothing felt overtly rushed for what was happening around, downtime was condensed perfectly, and I think we've got a pretty good series brewing from this offering.
The setting really draws on in, if one enjoys stories regarding just how inept medieval society had a tendency to be people are greedy, selfish, and out for their ends.
This includes keeping important knowledge no matter who it hurts, and I enjoy it, It can be a bit of an annoyance to a reader, but it is a strong motivator for plot and drive to the story and this one one has it in spades.
Without spoiling anything, I will say to trust nothing anyone says in this book,
I also appreciate our heroines as they are especially vibrant and really help to color the world around them, no one feels useless or out of place in the party, and even when they feel that way themselves they continue driving forward.
I definitely recommend this book, and hopefully I can do so with the volumes to follow, Good Read.
Main character gets transported to a fantasy world, meets some girls and tries to save a kingdom, Ending looked to be added for the sequel, Note: There are some adult situations in the story, Writing is above high school level, characters are pretty weak and uninteresting, story wasn't the worst, Everything about this book is just bland, definitely have read better by writers on the same level,
The only good thing I can say about this is the story was kind of OK, The MC was a dick and that gets annoying really quickly, If he was just a dick that would be fine, but he just doesn't stop being a hypocritical idiot and that makes him predictable.
There isn't really anything interesting about him,
I just have to mention how much I enjoyed the scene where Norman Bates gets mad at Jasmine and takes her into a creepy abandoned Amusement Park for a blind date.
I'm just surprised she didn't run away and call the cops and end the book right then and there, She might be a bitch but he is creepy as hell, Enjoyable, of someone confusing read
Enjoyable book, if a little confusing at times, The MC isn't bad, bit his inability to take things seriously gets old quickly,
A few plot holes here and there, but otherwise an interesting read,
Am curious to see where you're going with this, And some refinement will make it better! DNF
This book had a lot of potential but it sort of just gave out around the world building.
I know some other readers might really dislike the MC, but he is a fairly realistic sort of guy, while I found him to be a dick personality wise, he was never a struggle to read about.
The main issue is that the world just isn't very well thought out, It's the most generic dragon and magic world you could think of and while the dialogue is well written most of the characters are forgettable, apart form the MC.
I didn't finish the book as it was failing to keep me interested around the halfway mark and I just gave up.
I would like to see this author maybe cover erotica in a different genre than the very tired 'guy wakes up in magic world' setting.
I do think there is some talent here, I had this book for two years, and I'm now low enough on stock and read similar enough books like this that I think I can finish this from start to finish.
It's wonders what time can do, Three years ago I would have never picked this up, . .
This Heresy of Dragons's cover is a product of artists not communicating with the authors, The glove is mentioned multiple times to be on his right hand, I even thought it ended up switching hands, Nope. It was on the right hand all the time, yet, the cover shows it on the left,
All the reviews were right, The protagonist is a piece of work, He only cares about himself, and his existence is centered around spouting as much pop culture quips as possible, He doesn't have some skill, or mental knowledge to affect the world in a positive way, Everything he is, is because of the glove,
Also, the slow sync rates are a slog, I won't be picking up any sequel,
It seem by the end, the protagonist starts to care for people other than himself, Doesn't matter because nothing the protagonist has to offer interests me,
./Stars Poor worldbuilding for the size of the book, Silly MC and enough plot holes that I noticed, Not a good book!.to maybebut it was a DNF for me, Just lost interest. It had potential but just could not keep me entertain to keep reading, DNF. The MC was so thoroughly unlikable that I would rather watched some paint dry than continue to listen to the audiobook, The MC is an entitled ass, The first part of the book when he takes a date to an old amusement park, Wow he really is making a great impression, Then he talks about women like they are a meat sandwich tasty, but anything will do, Its awful. I made itand bailed, I've got better things to read, childish. all i can say about the book, mc is a horny teenager, plot moves really slow, characters are shallow and dumb,is all i could tolerate,
it's a pure example of what not to do in a fantasy book, This was a struggle to get through and I feel mildly disappointed after finishing it, The book reads like the fan fic a first time WEBTOON writer would base their first work on, There are a lot of jokes that have been force fed into this that when coupled with the serious, action focus of the book made it confusing and in some cases down right cringe worthy.
Granted there are a few good one liners but over all it just seemed to fall flat, Although most of the characters are well rounded the MCs drives and emotions seemed to go from high school childish to serious hero at the drop of a dime and less than halfway through I was getting whiplash.
The random plot movers come on so suddenly and disappear without explanation, Although proof reading is much better than other new authors, there were enough inconsistencies to leave me frowning, I would have like to give this two just because its the first of the series and it should improve, but I feel like some issues should have been addressed before it was published.
In short, not happy with this read and probably wont be back for the second one, Not every man can handle a magitech gauntlet that speaks in floating silver text, or a handful of women with unique needs.
Im not every man,
When a bad blind date got worse like, interdimensional lightning storm worse I woke up to a realm of dragon women, magical kobolds, and a playful monkey girl with a painful secret.
I also accidentally totally on purpose stole an ancient artifact in the form of a black gauntlet that bonded with my body and unlocked a series of new abilities.
So whats the catch The glove wasnt meant for me, It was meant for the fabled Hero of Silura, the only man capable of preventing a gnarly blue ice demon and his army of bloodsucking halfbreed children from wiping out the kingdom of dragon descendants that took me in.
Now he wants the glove, buckets of blood, and a bridge across the divine veil that separates this realm from Earth.
And hell be here in three two one
Warning: This book contains violence, snide comments, explicit sexual encounters, LitRPG / Gamelit elements, and general badassery.
Not even good
