Get The Promise (The Amish Of Cedar Grove #3) Crafted By Patricia Davids Presented As Mobi
loved this book!! Great story!! Can't wait for the next book in the series to release!! Read a few books by this author will read more of her books!! I really don't know why but I love this genre so much!
I enjoyed this book a lot! Davids is an awesome storyteller.
She paints a beautiful picture of Amish life, They way they live, work, and worship that I felt like I was in the story with Levi and his family.
I like her stories because they offer so many things including forgiveness and love among many other things.
I did have to snicker in some places of this book because of the way the author has written a certain line or paragraph that I thought was cute.
I will tell you though these characters will steal your heart in a flash!
What I most liked about the story was the horses.
I'm a horse lover and to be honest I think that's what really got me started in liking the Amish so well.
I've been a horse lover ever since I was a girl and still am, I will ride one any chance I get, They might be dangerous but yet at the same time they're beautiful! Even in motion,
The beginning of this story upset me a little bit but yet I thought was funny because of the way their mother did the grown men and I could see her point.
I really could. I got great delight in that one,
Sometimes and I'm guilty of this myself when God finally gives us what we want or need we're not satisfied at all! When I do this then I feel bad because it was what I had asked for.
God really is good is He not I think that sometimes we fail to see that and then get mad at HIm when he doesn't respond right away.
Then we get mad at Him, Not his fault things don't work out the way they're supposed to or the way we think they should.
I needed this reminder that He will do things in His own time and how He sees fit.
I loved this gentle story about the Amish, It really was very good and as usual I didn't want to say goodbye,
I highly recommend this book,
My thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin for a complimentary copy of this book, All opinions are my own and I was NOT required to write a positive review Sometimes love is where you least expect it
Sarah Yoder has always dreamed of having a family of her own.
But with no eligible prospects, shes beginning to worryuntil the Rabor brothers return to Cedar Grove, Sarah and Isaac Rabor walked out together the summer they were sixteen, so perhaps hes the answer to her prayers.
The only trouble is that she cant seem to catch his eye, If only she had a little help
Levi Rabor has no interest in marriage, When his mother reveals her plans to deed the family farm to the first son who marries, Levi has a plan to ensure that it isnt him: a pretend courtship with Sarah to nudge his competitive brother in her direction.
Once Isaac is married, Levi can leave town to train racehorsesjust as he wanted, So why does Sarahwith her vision of a peaceful, happy life on the landmake his heart gallop Perhaps the answer lies in how sweetly surprising love can be.
Levi Rabor has a plan, He knows Sarah Yoder likes his brother Isaac, He remembered when they were teens that that had briefly dated, Levi agrees with Sarah to pretend they are courting to make his brother jealous, Since Levi is planning on leaving town once Isaac is married and settled, things couldn't happen fast enough.
Surprisingly, Levi finds that this plan just might not be a good idea, He begins to see Sarah in a new light, How this will affect his future plans only time will tell,
Besides growing feelings between Sarah and Levi, there is the feeling of discontent that Isaac faces.
However, the brothers are dedicated to their mother, who is dealing with ill health, and they try and focus their attention on her needs.
For them to pay attention to what might make their hearts sing is just not on the agenda.
I loved this story, For one thing, it was sort of one of second chances, at least when Sarah was pursuing Isaac.
But watching this story go beyond a relationship that just not be destined, Sarah falling for Levi was done quite well.
This story also shows the strong family bonds that exist in the Rabor family, And most importantly, faith is a huge factor when it comes to choices and the future,
This is another remarkable story by Patricia Davids, The characters are lovely, and this is a very touching story of love being found unexpectedly, I am not sure if this is a trilogy or if there will be more in this series, but whatever the case, I most certainly will be reading the next book that Ms.
Davids writes.
Many thanks to HQN Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review, This is my honest opinion, Another in the Amish of Cedar Grove in which Sarah Yoder wants a family of her own but despairs that it will never happen.
Then the Raber brothers, one of whom she liked when she wasmoves back to town to care for their mother who is still grieving her late husband.
Levi Raber would have preferred to stay in Lancaster, where he was running his father's training and saddle bred horse racing stable for trotters.
He promised his father he'd take care of his mother, so he has reluctantly accepted that her mother has sold the farm and most of the horses he was training.
Sarah wants to get back with Isaac Raber, who has little interest in her and isn't even sure he wants to be baptized into the faith, a requirement if Sarah is to marry him.
But she reluctantly discovers that not only is Isaac not in love with her, but she is drawn to Levi, who decides to go back to Lancaster when his mother becomes reacquainted with a man who always loved her.
That man takes Levi aside and tells him he's making a mistake he'll regret if he doesn't tell Sarah how he feels about her.
But will he do it, knowing that Sarah prefers to stay in Cedar Grove Henrietta Raber has not gotten over the loss of her husband.
He died in an accident and since then her health is failing along with her reason to live.
She has decided without speaking to either of her sons Levi, or Issac that they are leaving Lancaster and returning to her home in Cedar Grove.
The stables that Levi and his dad had built took lots of work but they loved it.
Now in the blink of an eye, the life they knew is over,
Sarah Yoder had been close friends with Isaac one summer and to hear that he is returning brings a huge smile to her face.
Most of Sarah's friends are married and she feels her chances are very slim with so few single men in Cedar Grove, to find a husband.
Unfortunately, Issac is not as excited about returning as Sarah hoped he would be nor is he ready to take the relationship one step further then it was in the past.
Levi is upset as he wanted to stay but with his mothers ailing health and his younger brother he has to assume the responsibilities.
The brothers wind up finding love but not how they had planned and even Henrietta seems to have gotten her energy and strength back.
I have never read any of Ms David's books before but she now has a new fan.
I loved it A story of many layers, and each one worth reading, Great love story. Also a good education in Amish life, The Promise by Patricia Davids is therd novel in The Amish of Cedar Grove series, It can be read as a standalone for those new to the series, I thought The Promise was wellwritten with solid characters and a lovely setting, There is humor scattered throughout the book that I enjoyed, Things never go as we plan them which leads to amusing situations, Sarahs greatest desire is to marry a man, settle down near where she grew up, and have a family.
She has no desire to move anywhere else, Unfortunately, there is a shortage of single men in her district, When Isaac Raber returns to town, it seems that God has answered her prayers, Isaac did propose to Sarah before he returned to Pennsylvania the summer he visited, Levi Raver loves his work of raising and training horses for racing, He has A Wing and a Prayer who is a promising filly, He needs to return to Pennsylvania, though, if he is train and race her, It was interesting to learn that Amish could raise, train, and own racehorses, They cannot ride the horses nor bet on the races, I liked that the characters from The Wish and The Hope appeared in the story, We get a chance to catch up with them, There are two side stories in The Promise, Henrietta Raber has returned to her hometown for a reason as her children soon learn, It will take some time to get the full story from her, Isaac keeps his phone close at hand and seems to text someone frequently, The Promise is a sweet, heartwarming story with festive fishing jaunts, a canoe crisis, one fine filly, a risky race, traveling by tractor, and quixotic quandaries.
.I love this series! This was my favorite book of the trilogy, Hoping to find out the author wrote another book on Levi and Sarah's new life together, This book grabbed my attention way more than the other two and had me up reading "just one more chapter.
. . " till the wee hours of the morning many times, Can what you have been dreaming about and wishing for since you
werereally be your hearts desire, or when it becomes reality, maybe it isn't what you really want The author has given us this premise with Sarah Yoder, a young Amish woman who suddenly is granted her wish, but now sees something she likes better, a brother of the man she thought was her answer or maybe he is
We get to walk with these people as they go about their everyday lives, whether they are canning beans, training horses, or fishing, we are there.
There is also romance in the air, and surprises are also here and your are going to be page turning to find them.
We are also reunited with characters from past reads, but you will not be lost, this can be read alone, but you will want to pick up the past two books!
This read will warm your heart, there is a lot of caring and compassion here, and the love of God!
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.

The Amish of Cedar Grove I enjoyed Sarah and Levis romance because its a good illustration of how the infatuation of youth can change as we grow older and our priorities change.
I liked getting updates on Sarah and her older sister, their lavender farming business and the Kansas Amish community who use farm machinery for their daily travel and appreciated how God brought Sarah and Levi together.
His myriad blessings are a huge part of Amish fiction that I find very appealing, I took an immediate dislike to Henrietta, She sold her oldest son's birthright without even discussing it with him, Her selfishness stole her husband's dream and then that of her first born,
There was no need to sell the property since she also owned the farm and could have provided for both sons.
Her youngest son was just a selfish and also childish,
I initially liked Sarah and Levi but their game playing was tedious, .
