Little Sense of Structure or Whys

As I am both a writer and an editor to other writers, I was interested in the topic of this book as soon as I saw it at one of my favorite book review sites.
Im always looking to glean more insights and knowledge in what can be a

very difficult topic, Unfortunately, I found this book to be somewhat problematic, Let me tell you why,

First, there was no introduction to the book whatsoever, The author provided no ideas about his rationale for what he includes in this book nor did he give an overall sense of structure.
I think introductions really help set up reader expectations and provide a bird'seye view of what the reader will learn, as well as give a glimpse into why the author chose to write a particular book in a certain way.
Instead, this book just starts out with his tips about what to do on various days during book marketing.
The title is a little misleading, He actually goes into some tips about what to do starting four months before launch day as well as three months after.

Having worked with my own books and those of other writers, I can say that I do not agree with the timing of some suggestions or sometimes with the suggestions themselves.
Some of what he states is counterintuitive, and I dont think would work for any author, let alone a new one.
I would have liked to see some explanations for the tips and suggestions given, What is the why behind them What purpose do they serve in a greater marketing plan It wasnt always obvious why certain things were needed and other ideas not needed.
I also didnt like that he didnt define terms that would most likely be unknown to authors especially new ones.
For instance, he mentions SEO very early on but doesnt say what it is or even say what the initialism stands for.
There may be some nuggets in this book, but I think it is too light on the details to be of much value to a new author.
There are other books on marketing that would probably be more helpful,

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review, Good marketing resource base for selfpublished authors,

In a sense it was really interesting to get an insight behind the marketing curtain, Have you ever read a book so wonderful that you can't put it down This is the experience I have felt with Joel Stafford's "The FirstDays of Your Book.
" It has provided me with a world of insight into the publishing world, As an independent writer, this book has been an absolute lifesaver for me, I would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in selfpublishing and marketing their book for the first time.
Essential reading for anyone who needs to attain an understanding of how to sell their kdp book on amazon.
Some very useful information to put into practice, Down to earth and easy to understand, Joel will guide you through the firstdays, Great marketing tips

The author appears to be very knowledgeable about book marketing, All he needs to do is fire his present editor and hire a better one, Joel isn't an easy going person, but he is really dedicated for his hobby: "books",
Over the years he told a lot of stories about authors and publishing houses and I was really interested reading his experiences.

Well, overall this The First 100 Days of Your Book's tone is very personal, He introduces the best of his practical knowledge to the readers, while he keeps the focus on a hypothetical timeline: "The FirstDays".
To be honest it was a great idea to share the concrete marketing steps as it would happen in real life.

I'm also addicted to books so I knew a lot of tactics of Joel, but he shared several unique ones in this book.
If you are a first time author this book will definitely help you in the marketing jungle, This contains information, some new and some I already knew, This is great information for everyone because everyone has different levels of experience, I highly recommend this to those who are publishing a book,

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, New practical approach in book marketing

The author uses really simple direct language, it feels like sitting in front of you.
He introduces a step plan to the reader how to promote his or her book, He includes both paid and free opportunities, so you can work on marketing based on your budget, But most importantly, Joel shares his personal opinion of the methods he introduces,

The book is up to date, and gives a great insight into book publishing, Today having an excellent book with an great idea isn't enough for success, Over ,,books published every year, don't expect the crowd to pick up your book and say "it is a masterwork" even if it is.

I swear you won't find any marketing bullshit in this book:
No "social media is the king" crap No "just order a gold marketing package" and problem is solved No "do a giveaway" or "kindle free promotion" and everybody will buy your book

I collected all the working marketing steps for those who want to make an impact with their books.
You won't find any of the words "strategy" or "planning" in this book, I'm a practical guy and so I try to keep the bullshit and timewasting things away from you, but I deeply believe that there are methods that should be shared with the new authors who have limited resources to do marketing.

I'm focusing mainly on KDP authors, since it is the best platform to publish indie books in.
You will find small steps not timeconsuming, and some bigger steps in this short book which will be effective in long term.
I tried to keep these steps in a linear timeline as it may happen even in real life,

I hope you will enjoy reading this book, and you will find some useful resources and unique tactics that will raise your book out from the crowd.
