regrettable that many of the photos from that era have been lost.
For the ones included in this book, each one is an intriguing moment frozen forever, And having visited Egypt a number of years ago, I was surprised that many of the temple sites I visited were not all that different in comparison to the photographs of the earlier time.
This was an occurrence that I also found when reading Victorian travelogues,
