Earn Helter-Skelter Showcased By Della Galton Offered In Physical Book

story is about Vanessa, a young woman who used to work in a fairground, She has been through both betrayal and tragedy, and is currently married to someone supposedly solid and reliable,

I thought the plot was well crafted, Although the outcome is inevitable, there are developments that I was not expecting, and it makes a good light read, I found Vanessa quite believable, if naive at times, However I found it difficult to believe in her husband, who becomes increasingly more unpleasant through the book,

There's a 'hero', of course his main passion is horses, and hes quite rude at times, There are some likeable minor characters, too, who help to flesh out the novel,

On the less positive side, I felt at times as if I were being educated too much about horses and show jumping, topics in which I have no interest whatsoever.
The research was thorough and the writing realistic, but most of the information wasnt relevant to the story, The other thing that bugged me was one detailed intimate scene something that happens in so many womens fiction books these days, but which then makes them unsuitable to recommend to young teenage friends and some of my adult friends who might otherwise enjoy them.

Still, its a good story overall in the 'chicklit' style, and the ending was entirely satisfactory, Three and a half would be fairer,
This is a great story, beatifully written, Della Galton writes characters with flaws that the reader can understand and forgive well, most of them, anyway!, As the title suggests, Vanessa's life is full of twists and turns that keep the interest to the last page, Garrin is wonderfully moody and sexy, Richard is just awful. There is a great balance of laughter and tears sometimes on the same page, I took this on holiday with me and finished it in less than a day, This is the first of Della's books that I have read it certainly won't be the last, A good will they won't they book, Brought up on a seaside fairground, Vanessa knows all about what a rollercoaster ride life can be, Tragedy forces her to flee, but when she discovers that her husband a property developer is cheating on her, she returns, But by now the fair has gone, and the land bought by her husband is covered with luxury flats, Published: first published
Author: Della Galton
Recommended for: fans of romance novels/ chick lit
Edition: Kindle

I found this novel on the Kindle Store for free and so I thought that I would give it a try.
I thought that this was a very well written novel which contains great descriptions of the characters, their feelings, the settings and surrounding which makes it feel more realistic and makes you feel like you are there with them watching everything unfold.

This is the first book that I have read by Della Galton, In this book the main character Vanessa discovers that her husband is cheating on her but when she returns to confront him she finds that their land and the fair have gone.
She is soon feeling like her life and passion is heading down hill fast, This is a light, gentle story to read and shows off the writing style of Della Galton, I would have rated this, stars. Entertaining chick lit read following a typical formula, An easy read although the addition of horses, show jumping and stable yards wasn't that appealing for me I skipped those pages, Excellent romantic novel. Worth reading. Della's characters are well drawn, Helter Skelter would also appeal to horse lovers and those who want to revisit the romance of the fairground, It is a meatier romance compared to Della's first novel, Passing Shadows, I actually really enjoyed this book, The plot was well developed, as we're the characters, An enjoyable read : Excellent book, well written, Kept me wanting to read on, Would like to read more by this author, Got as a free kindle book and would recommend it, I don't read a lot of chick lit, but I do enjoy the occasional peek into women's magazines, and Della Galton's short stories are always good 'uns, This longer work was a satisfying quick read, with just the right mix of comedy and emotion, and an unusual background, It's also set in the area where I grew up, which added an extra dimension for me,

Do also read the Writer's Toolshed guides for short story and novel writing! A very satisfying and gentle read, BLECCH. Let me give you a taste of this novel: "They had loved each other and hated each other, but now they had come full circle, And this was the forgiving, " There is nothing here that is not a complete soap opera, It is all unbelievable, unreal, and boring,

Galton hypes up the melodrama with the kidnapping scene, Vanessa is really dumb enough to leave Isobel with Richard Then, after being locked in the room with him all night she quietly hands the baby over to Garrin and

submits Why wouldn't she start yelling as soon as he opened the door Clearly if she yelled that she was being held against her will Garrin and Izzy would call the police.
Similarly, why would Garrin and Izzy be afraid to call the police if they hear the baby inside crying and have evidence that Vanessa and/or Isobel are in trouble couldn't they ask the cops to knock down the door and make a rescue The whole thing was completely ridiculous.

I was also unable to reconcile the extreme sadness over the death of the first baby, Yes, I have been accused of being cold hearted and I imagine that there would be all sorts of guilt and blame and that the relationship between Vanessa and Garrin might dissolve over the death of the baby.
However, I thought it was silly that they called her "Jennifer" instead of "the baby" and that they would "wake up seeing her face" even though they only saw it once!

Ultimately, the cinematographic run through the rain at the end was just too much.
I mean, really this was written for daytime TV dramaland,

Overall there is nothing redeeming about this book, It is not compelling, there are not insightful observations, and the plot is garbage, Not worth the time. A well written book Good story one i could sort of relate too, Enjoyed the fairground and the characters, This is a fabulous read bursting with deep bright colours the fairground, a tragic bereavement, horse riding, a gypsy curse, guilt, betrayal, lust and love it's all in there!
Della Galton teases us with a flawed hero and a likeable villain in such an even handed way that, like the heroine Vanessa, we take our time deciding which is which.

We travel on a roller coaster ride of emotions, revisiting a painful past and getting embroiled in a helterskelter of dramatic twists and turns until at the end all comes full circle, like the Big Wheel.

Such a great read thank you Della!
When Vanessa suspects her husband is being unfaithful, she returns to her roots only to discover the fairground where she was raised has gone and in its place is a new development of luxury apartments.
She meets up with the man she abandoned now a successful but unforgiving horse trainer,

Helter Skelter is a multifaceted love story where emotions, tempers and frailties, run deep, Nicely drawn characters with an interesting backdrop of horse shows,
An enjoyable read with realistic characters, The problems were resolved a little too simplistically though and it lost a little bit of realism because of that, Nevertheless it was an enjoyable, easy read, Lovely summer read, true romance at it's best, Della Galton aka Della Parker writes novels set in Dorset, featuring quirky characters and very often a dog or two, Shes had thanshort stories published and shes run out of fingers to count her books on, She is a popular speaker at writing conventions and the agony aunt for Writers Forum Magazine, When she is not writing she enjoys walking her dogs around the beautiful Dorset countryside and beaches, Della Galton aka Della Parker writes novels set in Dorset, featuring quirky characters and very often a dog or two, She's had thanshort stories published and she's run out of fingers to count her books on, She is a popular speaker at writing conventions and the agony aunt for Writers' Forum Magazine, When she is not writing she enjoys walking her dogs around the beautiful Dorset countryside and beaches, sitelink.
