Begin Your Journey With Arthur And The Baby: A Classic Arthur Adventure Imagined By Marc Brown Ready In Physical Edition

Released as Arthur's Baby, In this story Arthur remembers when his mom first told him and D, W. that she is pregnant. Arthur is nervous, wondering what it will be like to have a new baby in the house, When Kate is born, Arthur is worried that she hates him, since she cries whenever he is nearby, I loved the Arthur TV show a books as a small child and now I'm rereading this series and reading some entries I never read.
This entry was cute and nostalgic, Summary:
At first, Arthur is worried when his parents give birth to his new little sister, Kate, However, he soon learns that all it takes is trying to become the ideal big brother,

Evaluation:
I love this book! Arthur books are always some of my favorites, but this one is especially amazing! I love the illustrations because they perfectly follow the story.
This is a great aspect for students who can not yet read on their own, I also love the fun storyline, and that it is a relatable topic to many children,

Teaching Ideas:
Especially teaching lower grades, quite often the students receive new brothers or sisters throughout the year, I think this book would be great to use in a kindergarten classroom to teach students about helping take care of their siblings.
Some children have no knowledge of how to treat infants, and this book is a fun way to introduce that topic to them.
I would read this book as an interactive read aloud, and allow students time to share personal connection they make to the book.
This book is a good one to read with kids who are about to gain a new sibling, Lots of great topics to chat about with your little ones, Plus, it's entertaining too! Im giving this book reviewbecause found the storytelling kind of stale and for it to be a blatant ripoff of the PBS episode Arthurs baby! I think the cartoon tv show episode did the plot much better.
The art in this version was pretty good though and did have a Marc brown familiar style too it that I love! I just wish we got more plot.
Also NO THE EXCUSE THIS IS A KIDS BOOK DOES NOT WORK, Other Arthur books do have a lot more plot to them even the picture books! But I will still be keeping this in my collection.
For Arthur sake.
Also, the most notable difference from the tv episode to the book is the images shown of little Arthur and D.
W so its always nice to see different images of the read kids as young babies! Arthur's family is expecting a baby and everyone is excited.
But Arthur wonders, will the new baby change everything Arthur's parents tell Arthur and DW that they are having a baby, Arthur is not happy about it and a little scared, He doesn't want anything to do with the baby until when a situation arose and Arthur heelped out with the baby, If your class is discussing family, read this book about a family and a younger siblings, Arthur and his family are expecting a new addition to their family, Everyone is excited, but Arthur is a little overwhelmed with what this could mean, Kate finally arrives, and Arthur slowly adjust to his new little sister Kate, ok one more new baby and older sibling book, This has all the greatness of an Arthur story,

with the anticipation and nervousness of having a new baby in the house, that all resolves in the end.
I always loved reading the first lines over and over to my kids when were expecting a new baby:
"we're going to have a new baby!"
"what, a baby"
"yes, in aboutmonths!!"
with the picture of the mom eating ice cream with pickles

I thought these books were great for prepping the kids for what lay in store.
: His parents are going to have another baby, and Arthur's gang have warned him about the sleepless nights, endless babysitting, smelly nappies and gooey babytalk.
The baby might even be like his bossy little sister, D, W. This is so relatable for young children with siblings, I enjoy the characters and their individuality in this book, This book depicts the life of Arthur as his parents tell him that they are expecting another baby, It shows the reactions of his friends and his younger sister, D, W. It also reveals Arthurs reaction and how he deals with another baby joining the family,

Having another baby join the family is a big deal, so this was a great stories to introduce to children who are going through big changed in their life.

With this book we should allow children to write their own story about a time a big change happened in their lives and then have the book published.
Great book to read to students if they are about to have a new baby brother or sister, it helps teach them about responsibility and to be honest with their parents about how they feel.
It's always an enjoyable book also to read for fun, I would choose this book mainly for one student especially if they are expecting a new family member, rather than a large group maybe.
Arthur was one of my favorites books to reads in elementary school, I still enjoy reading them, This is about Arthur getting a new baby sister in his family and what all being a big brother means, This would be great to share for a read aloud if you knew that one of your students just had a new sibling arrive.
This could be a great way to incorporate a writing lesson about responsibilities that students have at home too, D. W. is good in this one, I loved the Arthur TV series when my sons were growing up and am so thankful that I can share the Arthur book series with my nephew!

Arthur's not exactly sure that he's going to like having a new baby in the house especially a little sister who could very well possibly be just as much of a brat as his sister DW is.
Then he meets his baby sister, and well, she's not so bad after all, This is about expecting a baby, Arthur's parents tell him there's going to be a new baby and so the book is what to expect when a new baby comes.
I've read this same story from the Berenstain Bears and Little Monster, It's a staple trope. Don't love reading these books, but my kids sure seem to, Arthur and D. W. , two rather unpleasant elementary aged children, are expecting a little sister, D. W. , a firm believer in gender roles, delights in trying to cast Arthur as an unwelcoming brother and herself as the angel in the home.
Meanwhile Arthur sulks and remains passive, The child arrives, and Arthur manages to upstage his sister,

It's probably hard to tell that I'm not a big fan of this franchise, This is one of my favorite Arthur books, I grew up watching Arthur on PBS Kids and I loved reading the books, It has been a long time since I have read this book, but it was great to read this book once again it brought back memories of my childhood, reading almost all of the Arthur books.
Great read for children who love watching Arthur and love new siblings! Arthur and his little sister DW are told by their parents that they will be having a baby.
Arthur worries about how it will change things, but when the baby arrives Arthur finds out how much he can enjoy helping.
Nice family story. .
