Snag The Coming Prince Narrated By Robert Anderson Expressed As Print

far an intense study of the book of Daniel and the coming of the antichrist, The study is done very thoroughly by the exhead of the British Scotland Yard, I picked this one up on Chuck Missler's recommendation, It's pretty dry, and I didn't care for the formatting at all, in which huge chunks of the book were in footnotes, I skipped an awful lot of those, as I am wont to do, until I realized that I might be missing critical information that really should have been in the primary text.
But the primary nugget I took away was that in Daniel, the prophecy of the Messiah's arrival was not "roughly correct," but exact down to the day.
The years mentioned in Danielwere, as all of the ancient calendars were, inday years, It also begins the prophecy from the reconstruction of the walls and streets of Jerusalem, Thus, from the day King Artaxerxes issued the decree for the rebuilding of Jerusalem which history records asNisanBC, until the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and allowed himself to be declared the king publicly was exactlyweeks of years, or,days.
That also fixes the exact day of Jesus' crucifixion at Passover in Nisan A, D Very good read! Lots of information about the book of Daniel, Surprising how this man from the lateth century had the insight to write these things nearlyyears before the rest of Christianity caught up, Probably the best treatment of the book of Daniel ever, A foundation for so much later study, A classic study of the prophet Daniel and the prophecies given to him, An essential read for any serious Bible student,
"Prophecies abound in promises which God designed to feed his people's faith and fire their zeal, and a special blessing rests on those who read, and hear, and cherish them".
A quote from the book that sums up the purpose and blessings of knowing God's perfectly laid out plans from the beginning, For, "the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets, " Amos:Kind of a wacky sideventure because I wanted to understand more about the book of Daniel, I just figured out that the Bible prophesied the course of history of the various kingdomsBC Romans, including such details as how Alexander the Great would die, who would take over and who would send their daughter to marry the Egyptians in failed political strategy she fell in love.
Hmmph. Quite compelling. I would like to hear what skeptics have to say about this Written before Israel became a nation again, this book methodically lays out the prophecies leading to the End Times.
The author Sir Robert Anderson is fascinating as well an investigator with Scotland Yard in thes and an intelligence officer he wrote several books of doctrine.
Excellent work!!! Contains the lengthy preface to theth edition in which he deals with critics of the book in the "new" tradition of German Biblical textual criticism.
He attempts to refute their claims that the book of Daniel, like many apocalyptic books was written backwards, that is, it was written in the time of the Maccabees by an author pretending to

be Daniel.
How you judge the actual book depends on what you think about his refutation, Points of interest: Anderson's chronology takes into account that the ancient Hebrews used a lunar calendar, not one ofdays, making the definition of "year" problematic, Also of interest is his reconciliation of the differing dates of Christ's crucifixion in the synoptic Gospels vs the Gospel of John, a difference that Bart Ehrman uses to great effect in his classes and video lectures.
Finally, while no fan of Roman Catholicism, he ridicules those who equate the pope with the antiChrist, Very Intriguing!!!! Difficult going due to the archaic language in places, but a mustread for anyone interested in eschatology, Classic. One of the most exhaustive works ever written on Daniel's Seventieth Week and the coming Antichrist, featuring a complete chronology, This book is hard to rate for me, Is it worth the time Probably, I agree with Anderson's overall view of prophecy and I think he defends it well, Though, there are quite a few things in the book that left me scratching my head, And honestly, quite a bit that seemed completely unrelated to the subject at hand,

I read it because so many commentators refer to his Biblical chronology especially as it relates to the seventy weeks of Daniel, In all that, I'm honestly doubtful that he has it all nailed down perfectly, He believed he had it figured out down to the very day,

He is dogmatic in his opinion of a European Antichrist a position which I think needs to be rethought, And he is committed fully to the idea that the Roman Empire will be reestablished, It is a major foundation of the book, How expositors have so ably ignored the Islamic Caliphate, I'm not sure I'll ever know,

I was encouraged, at least, to see that a man who wrote in theth century firmly believed in the restoration of Israel, despite what his eyes were telling him.
I bought this book as Chuck Missler recommended it in his writings on the Rapture and the book of Revelation, However, sadly for me, I could not get on with the oldfashion writing, I love Charles Dickins and other classics so I don't really understand why I found it so hard going, I only read the first chapter with difficulty, Other people may not have the same experience and no doubt the information is good, Sir Robert Anderson KCB was the second Assistant Commissioner Crime of the London Metropolitan Police, fromto, He was also an intelligence officer, theologian and writer, Librarian Note: There is than one author in the GoodReads database with this name, sitelink See this thread for information, Sir Robert Anderson KCB was the second Assistant Commissioner Crime of the London Metropolitan Police, fromto, He was also an intelligence officer, theologian and writer, Librarian Note: There is than one author in the GoodReads database with this name, sitelink See this thread for information, sitelink.
