Find Ruby Dawn Imagined By Raquel Byrnes Offered In Volume
enjoy suspense, but the edge contemporary stuff is not what I usually reach for in a read, I like to escape into other places and time and enjoy a good romance and adventure, When I picked up Ruby Dawn I had no idea what to expect, What I did not realize is that I was going to read nonstop until my Kindle battery died, Thewarning popped up and I ignored it well into the night to keep turning the page until it took it upon itself to leave me in complete darkness.
But wait! What happens next! I've been completely captivated from page one and I love the characters with such personality, Reminds me of other authors I quite enjoyed such as Karen Ball and Melanie Wells,
I'd recommend it, I'll have to look into what other books are in the series and other things from White Rose Publishing as well in the future,
Thanks to Raquel for emailing me an eBook copy for review,
posted: sitelink com/blog/ What an intense, welldeveloped suspense, I felt immediate compassion for, and rooted for Ruby D and Tom to get the bad guy and come to terms with their emotions, Wow, quite the ride. She was named after the way the morning sky looked on the day that she was found, a beautiful Ruby Dawn, She was only eight when she believes her life began because she doesn't remember the life she had before that, Living in foster home after foster home until the one person who was going to promise her a new life, died tragically in a car accident.
Now she spent the remainder of her time in Dresden Heights Detention Center until she could begin life outside on her own instead of being a ward of the state.
Ruby is now working as a doctor trying to keep her medical clinic alive despite threats from a local gang that wants to use her clinic to filter drug operations through.
When she refuses, the threats against her become more violent until her life hangs in the balance, When she finds a man injured in a dark alley, she learns that the man who broke her heart ten years ago, she is about to find out what God's plan has been for her all along.
If only she can manage to stay alive long enough to find out,
Ruby Dawn by Raquel Byrnes is the second book in the Shades of Hope series that I received compliments of Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for my honest review.
I didn't have an opportunity to read the first book but after this one, I know I'll be checking that one out, This is truly a book about forgiveness, second chances and unconditional love as the author weaves her readers through a dangerous thrill ride to the very end.
Slowly the story weaves together and you can see that no matter how far Ruby tries to run from God, He still has her in His sights to bring her back to Him.
I rate this one aout ofstars! WOW!
Ruby Dawn McKinney has grown up in many foster homes, but not feeling as though she fitted in anywhere, spent most of her free hours on the street.
Now a doctor, Ruby has set up a medical clinic to provide free care to the street children of the worst part of San Diego.
She wanders the streets in the evenings looking out for the homeless and providing them with care, One evening she comes across the body of herst love Tom Masters, shot and losing a lot of blood she gets him to the ER, saving his life for thend time.
Tom Masters, now with the DEA, has been shot while on assignment, Walking away from Ruby all those years ago was the hardest thing he had ever done, but he had to for her sake, Now back in San Diego he was going to look her up after this assignment was over, Being shot and having her come across him wasn't part of the plan, but he's not going to walk away again, He's going to prove to Ruby he's here for her, and here to stay,
As Ruby's clinic becomes the centre for gang trouble, not to mention drug shipments being messed around with, Tom risks his undercover role to protect her.
As the danger increases, Ruby has to learn to once again trust God as she had when she was younger, trust Him to keep her safe physically from the danger directed towards her and her clinic, but also with all the fears of her heart that come with loving Tom and trusting him with her heart again.
I felt for Ruby as everything fell apart around her and she struggled to know which way was up, Yet, I loved her spirit and that she wouldn't go down without a fight,
I loved Tom, Ok, so sometimes he annoyed me too, but for the most part I did, I loved how he was so sure of Ruby and that he believed in them as a couple and never gave up, Although I was a little exasperated that he had taken so long to look her up!
I'm not a fan of love triangles, and my heart ached for
Ben.
Well, most of the time, There were other times he annoyed me too! I wish there had been someone in the wings that he could have been with, Maybe Raquel Byrnes can write his story for us one day,
The flashbacks to Dresden Heights were well done, and felt a real part of the story,
Favourite Quote:
"Sheila used to tell me that sometimes you have to trust God despite what things look like at the moment.
I just think we're in that moment, Tom, You have to have faith, " Ruby Dawn McKinney
A great, fastpaced, action filled, rekindled romance, highly recommended for those who love Christian Romantic Suspense!
This isin the Shades of Hope series, but has nothing to do withso this can be read safely as a standalone.
Update: I've now read thistimes, and each time I get sucked into the story and hate it when I have to put it down! I loved Purple Knot book, so I was looking forward to reading this one.
Although not as good as the first, I still enjoyed it, I look forward to reading more books by this author,
When Ruby Dawn's foster mother dies and she lands back in the foster care system, Tom Masters, another teen hardened by foster care becomes her knight in shining armor.
Circumstances pull them apart and they meet up again as adults, Ruby is a doctor managing a free clinic and Tom is a cop,
The story starts with a bang and as Ruby tries to hold tight to her dream of the clinic and deal with past wounds from a man who stole her heart, trouble follows her and Tom.
I loved these two characters and it's a good story, Makes you care about kids who've had a tough life,

Ruby Dawn is the first book I've read by Raquel Byrnes, I've wanted to read her other novel, Purple Knot, for a while, . . and want to read it even more after finishing this book!
I really enjoyed Ruby Dawn and aside from some typos I found the entire book to be enjoyable! The story was gripping and I found myself caring very much about what would happen to Ruby and Tom.
In Ruby Dawn, occasionally the time would switch from present day back to when Ruby and Tom were in the Dresden Heights Detention Center about thirteen years ago.
Surprisingly, I loved this and didn't find it to be confusing at all!
My favorite character would have to be Tom, So many of the things he did I found hilarious especially when he was talking to Ben,
From fires to kidnappings, Ruby Dawn is filled with suspense and had some surprises, At times it was very difficult to put down and I very much enjoyed reading it! I recommend Ruby Dawn if you enjoy Romantic Suspense novels!
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my review.
