on Crave the Night (Midnight Breed #12)

is bookin the Midnight Breed series and I still love this series! It has been awhile since I have visited the paranormal genre but dang it.
. . I sure have missed parts of it! I forgot how passionate and erotic vampires can be! LOL The fireworks between Nathan and Jordana was nothing short of amazingly hot and I got butterflies reading their encounters! I love that Lara Adrian has taken this series to a new level with the new generation of Breed Males and new villians as well.
It has a freshness to it and yet we still get to see glimpses of our beloved characters from the first several books, Some authors take a huge risk in carrying on a series too long and it becomes stale and blah,
Take Advantage Of Crave The Night (Midnight Breed #12) Produced By Lara Adrian Shared As Brochure
. . That is so not the case with this series, and I am for sure hooked on seeing where Ms, Adrian will take us next! I am very happy that I chose this as my Halloweenish themed read to be festive! LOL I enjoyed it so much I am going to read the next story in this exciting series!! The Midnight Breed books are by far my favorite vampire paranormal romance series.
With Adrian flashing forward twenty years with the events at the end of Darker After Midnight she has allowed her readers to keep up with their favorite past couples by now reading their adult children.
Nathan is the grown child we first met in Deeper Than Midnight, He is a grown man now and a squad captain within the Order,
Knowing Nathans origins you know he is going to have some damage, Yes he did some growing up within the loving home of Corinne and Hunter, but he came to them after he was trained to be a Hunter.
Im sure spending twenty years within the family of the Order has helped him heal some, he still has some rough edges and those made him all the more sexy.
All of this made him an even better match for Jordana, She has been raised among the elite with all of its fineries, She is the polar opposite of Nathan in every single way possible,
Sadly I guessed where some of Crave the Night was going, There were not any indicators that the events would go this way, I guess I just drew a logical conclusion that the tie in had to come from somewhere, That being said Jordana turned out to be a far more fascinating character than she could have been, That girl has got a mess of secrets that she doesnt even know about, Secrets that put her in harms way, These secrets will keep Nathan in her life protecting what he has deemed his, Sexy stuff there!
Everything about this series is just made of all that is awesome, I love the spin that Adrian has put on her brand of vampires, I like their origins and the complexities of their world, Im beyond intrigued by where she is going with the Atlanteans, As always with this series I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next book, sitelinkCrave The Night is the twelfth installment in sitelinkLara Adrian's paranormal romance series titled: sitelinkMidnight Breed, This is the first time I have read a book by sitelinkMs, Adrian and it is the first book I have read in this particular series, As noted on a fellow goodreads member's review, each book in this series can apparently be read as a standalone novel despite its series setup, so that's what I did.
This new release was available at my library and I grabbed it, Plus, it was recommended on a sitelinkliterary map for fans of sitelinkKaren Marie Moning FYI: I am in fact an enthusiastic fan!,

After reading, I have to agree and disagree with the "each installment can be read as a standalone" assessment, I agree because it was evident that the main characters' personal romance was new and fresh however, it was also evident that there was some overall backstory I was unaware of that left me feeling a bit uninvolved in the first approximate thirty percent of the book.
Obviously, when the romance began, it felt like a fresh experience so that was good, Once finishing the book, I felt knowledgable about the world and rules this series is based on, so that also was a plus and may support the "standalone" recommendation.

Overall, I liked this book, It was far from a sitelinkKaren Marie Moning experience in my opinion, but it was a good paranormal romance, I felt connected to the characters and even felt my heartstrings tug a little at their personal struggles, However, I did have some eyeroll moments at the writing within the heavy romance scenes and how the romance flowed in general, I mean, how many times can the story of the damaged, controlhungry man and the fragile virgin be told And "sexy" phrases like, "Your petals are so swollen and ripe" weren't sexy to me.
. . they just distracted me from the moment however, I have to admit I've read scenes in other books that had me busting out laughing so this really wasn't bad at all LOL.

There are positives and negatives in all books depending on the reader's perspective, and despite any negatives written in this review, I am in fact interested in checking out other books in this series and would recommend this series to fellow fans of vampire romances.
Please note that my rating may very well have been higher if I had read this series in order as my excitement would likely have grown for the characters and the world in general, and I may have felt more invested overall.
So with that in mind and based only on my personal reading experience, I would encourage new readers to read this series in order, From Netgalley

I hate giving a book in this series anything less thanbut for me Crave The Night wasn't an amazing book.
It had a few of my petpeeves,
Although it wasn't my favorite in the series , still it was an interesting and enjoyable read,

I really enjoyed the first half of the book unfortunately it went downhill for me from there,

BDSM didn't have any place in this book it felt forced and just page filler or maybe just to follow the trend! Not sure.
Nathan problems with being touched didn't make sense to me, Why would the hardship he suffered during the firstyears of his life result in his condition ! I couldn't get it, For a few chapters I thought I was reading Fifty shades ,it had all the elements , BDSM, the virgin , touch sensitive guy, . .

And then there was the tidbit about how he was tortured,

Now to the good parts , I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this book , I couldn't guess what's going to happen which is always a plus for me.

We got know more about Atlanteans and I was really looking forward to knowing more,

I hope this is not the end of this series ,I'd love to see where Lara Adrian is taking this series,
Thats me. so excited that this series continues to be more than just enjoyable, Having doubts how the author would take the Midnight Breed world next, but I neednt worrybecause

This is bookin the Midnight Breed series and its now time for Nathans story,

A Gen One first generation Breed, bred and raised as a hunter and trained to be a killer without emotions or feelings from birth by the now deceased Dragos, he was rescued by his mother and her mate, Hunter and has since been living with his family and with the Order

Now leader of one of the Order squads whose duty is to protect breeds and humans alike, hes a cold and emotionless and dangerous killer, who has kept his feelings buried deep inside him.

But having Jordana Gates, a beautiful Darkhaven socialite
and friend of Carys Chase, daughter of Tavia and Sterling Chase, and sharing an unforgettable and passion kiss, makes him feel and wanting things he never thought possible.

They have nothing in common except for the sexual chemistry that draws them to each other, Shes feeling unsure where her life is going, her father keeps pushing her to marry a suitable male of his choosing but theres something lacking in her life,

Nathan believes that shes too good a person for someone like him and tries to keep his feelings for her to go any further.

But Jordana sees the real person inside of Nathan,

I liked the way their relationship develops over a period of time and it was lovely seeing Nathans emotional walls slowly eroding as they get to know each other.
It felt real and believable that they were meant to be together,

Beneath Jordanas innocence and warmth, lies a strength that was able to understand the control Nathan needed in their relationship,

New revelations, new threats like the Atlantiens, new characters and of course known characters we have grown to love through the series,

I cant wait for the next installment!!!!!
