story is about Dom, and undercover Interpol agent and the Duchess's grandnephew who, thanks to the research of Natalie Clarke, is saddled with the title of Grand Duke of Karlenburgh and all the fame and notoriety that goes with being a royal.
Natalie downplays her attractiveness thanks to a bad experience with a guy and is very wary and disdainful of smooth, promiscuous men, like Dom.
Fortunately for their relationship, Natalie ends up with amnesia and doesn't remember this dislike, It allows them to become closer as friends and eventually lovers as they try to figure out who tried to hurt Natalie and what she was up to when she lost her memory.

After the last story, I was somewhat prepared to dislike Dom but I found him charming and delightful anyway, He was truly quite sexy and not a promiscuous asshole, I really liked the fact that he figured out early on that he wanted more than just a sexual relationship with Natalie.
Natalie was intriguing also the mystery of her wariness of men and what would happen when she remembered kept me interested, Her amnesia was handled well attributed to a psychological block that would eventually release it didn't overwhelm and it served the additional purpose of freeing her inhibitions so she could just be herself with Dom.
So it helped make their relationship possible, Nice touch. I LOVED the dog and the fact that we just called him "dog, " He had so much personality, The mystery was kind of unnecessary and not a true mystery IMHO I was a little surprised that Natalie didn't resume her wariness of men once her memory returned, as that could have provided a touch of interesting angst, but I wasn't too disappointed that it wasn't there.
Really, not much relationship angst at all here, I enjoyed reading this episode wish we had a characterdriven epilogue, I have always enjoyed amnesia tales, But the one thing I loved the most was learning about Budapest and all of its rich history, The author did incredible research of european history for this book, "The vignettes of Hungarian history are fascinating, melding the old with the new, Discovering what happened to Natalie is suspenseful and unpredictable, while her involvement with Dom is sensual and steamy" RT Book s,/TOP PICK!.

Miniseries: Duchess Diaries Good, Enjoyable visuals of Hungary. sitelink Two things up front: I know Merline and I bought this book because my first Harlequin Desire was featured on the inside back cover.
I didn't get around to reading HER UNFORGETTABLE ROYAL LOVER until now and that's a "my bad" on my part, This is a fun read, It's a good example of the Desire line, Hunky, sexy, powerful hero, a feisty heroine with secrets, stolen art treasures, and Budapest! What's not to love, right A sexy royal gets an amnesiac surprise in this tale from USA TODAY bestselling author Merline Lovelace

on hold, And it's all the fault of his cousin's dowdy research assistant Natalie Clark, who dug up the informationthen showed up on Dom's doorstep with a case of amnesia!

So why is Dom suddenly finding her so unforgettable Could it be that Natalie isn't what she seems One thing's certain: their undeniable magnetism is about to take them on a royally wild ride! Fun read.
The plot is improbable but that's part of what makes it fun, and it's mostly set in Budapest the one in Hungary which I know nothing about so I couldn't complain about the setting.
Though there is a town named Buda in Texas, south of Austin, named after the Buda half of Budapest perhaps The heroine is an archivist/ researcher working for a writer on a book about lost art.
The hero is an Interpol agent who is discovered to be the long lost Grand Duke of somewhere and when the news pops, his undercover career is messed up.
He's also a cousin to the heroine's employer and has already met her, So he's on vacation when she is brought to his apartment in Budapest because his is the only name she remembers after being coshed on the head and dumped in the Danube.
They track her actions back to following the trail of a painting that belonged to his family that disappeared in theHungarian Uprising.
There's adventure, mostly off stage, and interesting travelog type scenes and it's an entertaining, enjoyable read, I liked it.
