Grab The Townsbridges Series: A Regency Romance Anthology (The Townsbridges) Developed By Sophie Barnes Paperback
fivestar piece!
This is a very enjoyable collection to read with each book about Viscount amp Viscountess Roxley and their five children.
It begins with the romance of the future Viscount amp Viscountess Roxley and works its way through their children, Each romance has its ups and downs but was a delight to read, I love the author style of writing, She gave the reader wonderful characters, a solid plot, and brilliant dialogue, It is a collection I am happy to recommend, I did receive a free copy of this book from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it,
The first story, Once Upon a Townsbridge Story, is about George and Margaret, Their parents bring them together with the thought that they would make a good match, Margaret is against it because she has heard that George is a terrible rake, What I enjoyed about this story is that the main characters were willing to admit when that were wrong and to keep an open mind.
When Love Leads to Scandal is the story of Charles and Bethany, They meet by chance in the park early in the morning, sparks fly and then Charles discovers that Bethany became engaged to his friend, Robert, the previous day.
I find stories like this intriguing in that I couldnt imagine marrying when neither person has any real feelings for the other of course, Bethany is at an even bigger dilemma since she has met someone who does evoke her passion.
I almost feel like this story was left unfinished but that is because I want to know everyones story read on to see what happens in this triangle.
Lady Abigails Perfect Match continues this series with James Townsbridge being forced into marriage with Abigail after theare caught in a compromising position.
James thinks Abigail is going to make him a horrible wife due to what he thinks is her standoffish personality, but is in reality just her reaction to being overly anxious.
Thankfully this didnt drag on for too long and the two of them spoke openly/honestly however, as the story progresses there is another issue that tests their ability to be a happy couple.
Falling for Mr, Townsbridge is about Will, the youngest son, and his parents incredible cook, Eloise, Interest between these two builds up until Will doesnt quite think his proposal through completely, We get to see more of Athenas meddling and protectiveness of those she cares about when she goes after Will for his stupidity, I really enjoyed this story
A Duke for Miss Townsbridge is Sarahs story with Mathew, The banter between Sarah and Mathew is fun but its such a pity that Mathew is like so many other males in romance novels where he fears falling in love.
As the story progresses, Mathew is so intent on winning that he cant see whats happening until its too late, but since this is a romance with a HEA, its only a matter of time before he pulls his head out of his nether regions.
This was another enjoyable read,
Finally we get Athenas story in An Unexpected Temptation, Ive been looking forward to her story and am happy that the loose end from Charles and Bethanys story is closed off in this one.
This was one of my favourites since Robert new he was falling in love and wasnt going to fight it whereas Athena really wasnt sure what was happening.
If you like a good historical romance then you have to read this,

This is a very interesting and unusual historical romance, I definitely enjoyed this fast paced novella of love denied, and true love found, I do not discount a for The book being a novella, as some reviewers do,
The length of a book has little to do with its quality,

Opinions Expressed here are entirely my own,
There are some social errors in the book, A Duke is always addressed as Your Grace, or Duke, his title is above all others except a Prince or the King, Lesser titles are addressed as Lords,
There were also a number of places where modern phrases were used, I reviewed this from the ARC copy and don't know if the errors were corrected before publishing,
I loved this story!
