would recommend this really practical book, It was well thumbed before we set off and also useful in the first few months of our adventure, An exellent book for women considering the sailing life, I found it extremely helpful and pragmatic in the suggestions the author makes, She answered a lot of questions I had and raised issues that I hadn't considered yet, This book is pretty outdated and told me nothing I didn't already know, I am a cruising woman of, sailing the world with my husband in ourfoot Morgan, I was very unimpressed with this book, It is quite poorly written and didn't address the things that I thought would pertain most to women in the cruising community such as not being afraid to take commanding roles and how to deal with the less graceful parts of cruising such as not showering for days, peeing in a storm, and dealing with a period at sea.
instead, Jessie discussed wearing makeup and having children onboard, Ok, so I'm not exactly ready to go off cruising on a sailboat at this point, but it doesn't hurt to read about it, right Good, informative book.
Provides advice to women contemplating shortterm cruising or longterm voyaging, This book gives insights into a plethora of women's concerns, including: why we go cruising roles and relationships the right boat medical preparation and planning children on board family issues and events staying in
touch and career planning and employment.
