reading for Unionists like myself, Moore's research has uncovered the dark side of Unionism, the side that ordinary Unionists never dreamt of, Perverts in the pulpit, parliament and the lodges, manipulating events and being manipulated by government agencies,
It's not a surprise that Chris Moore went on to expose perversion in the Irish Catholic Church, The Nationalist people have a lot in common with us: their trusted institutions were/are havens for perverts, in some cases run by them,
We owe a lot to journalists like Chris Moore,
While listening to a news report on the govt coverup of institutional abuse in UK, I heard this book and scandal being referred to, I had heard the issue referred to in the past, but knew little about it, When I did a Google search, I found that there was a free copy of the book scanned in to Scribd,

This book in part documented the terrible abuse suffered by many of the residents of Kincora at the hands of three staff members who were eventually convicted in.
However, it's main focus was on charting the life of and investigating the role of William 'Billy' McGrath, Protestant Evangelist and leading Orange Order member, who directed the policy of shadowy Loyalist group Tara, and who allegedly had links to MI, who used him in an attempt to destabilise NI in the mids, and warned the RUC off investigating McGrath and Kincora during this period, despite complaints having been made by past residents.
To be honest, I found this book hard to follow at times, due to the intricate detail of meetings and political dealings that Chris Moore included within its pages.
Bearing in mind some of the Unionist politicians elected these days, it was actually frightening to read of MPs who believed that Ulster Protestants were one of thetribes of Israel, of people who wanted the Catholic Church to be outlawed, and of McGrath himself, with his denials of his guilt with regard to his actions at Kincora despite the overwhelming evidence against him.
To a certain extent, the book also touched on the attitude toward homosexuality of the establishment in NI at the time, which was profoundly depressing, with detail of the likes of medical examination used as proof of what was essentially criminal activity at the time.
McGrath and those documented in the book were thoroughly depraved in their actions, but I can only imagine what it must have been like for other gay men living in the country at the time, and how seedy life must have seemed to them, in the face of what they saw and heard from the establishment around them.
Should the Kincora scandal be included in the recently established UK inquiry into abuse involving politicians, we might eventually end up a little closer to the truth of what actually happened regarding MIand the scandal.
This will hopefully help those who were victims of McGrath and his cohorts, and cast another light into the 'dirty war' fought by the British during particularly the early years of the Troubles.
Sadly this book is out of print and expensive to pick up, second hand, More people really need to be aware of the MIoperations carried out in Northern Ireland, This highlights extent they would go to either keep agents happy or to blackmail political individuals, Children were clearly a commodity to them, to abuse, Most of this book, rather than deal with what actually went on at Kincora, deleves into the main protagonist, William McGrath, His early years in the lead up to his time at Kincora takes up half of the book, Rightly so, as it details his key role in the twilight of the troubles and how he continued to steer groups back then, The "justice", he recieved was little and majorly
inadequate considering his crimes, Chris Wilson yet again provides meticulous research that hopefuly one day will be expanded, in much required investigation, The Kincora scandal shocked Northern Ireland in, At the heart of the Kincora affair is one of the convicted sex abusers, William McGrath, This book reveals that as an agent of MI, McGrath unwittingly played a key role in the deliberate destabilization of Northern Ireland, .
