is a great read for everyone, not just young people,

The author has blended facts with fiction to give an account of the destruction of Jerusalem by the Romans and a possible way/reason as to how the scrolls ended up in caves at Qumran.
The characters he has created within this story work well together and are very realistic in their mannerisms.

I would definitely reccomend this book to anyone,

I own a softback copy of the book Great story!

The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it was too short! If you like action and adventure in biblical fashion, this book is for you.
AD, Jesus had been crucified more thanyears earlier, Caesar's Legions have been sent to Judea to eviscerate any trace of Christianity, Their plan To obliterate Jerusalem and its people, burn all the sacred scriptures and plunder the wealth of the Second Temple.
Against this backdrop, one brave man was chosen, He was trained for many years for a secret destiny he didn't want, Someone had to protect the sacred scriptures written since before the time of Moses, but would he answer that calling or would he allow the heathens of Rome to burn Christianity's most sacred scrolls and carry off the treasures of God's people I was eager to read this book received through the Goodreads First Reads program.
I was not disappointed. Crowe crafted realistic characters and brought a plausible history of the Dead Sea Scrolls to life, The story is succinct and compelling, This was an entertaining and imaginative story and gives a somewhat plausible explanation of how the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden in the caves.

Several things, though, pulled me out of the story, The story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead appears early in the story, The story is Biblical, but then after the event Lazarus is visited by Barnabus, who had sold property and given the proceeds to the church in Jerusalem.
In the Book of Acts, Barnabas sold property and gave the proceeds to the apostles, but this was after the Day of Pentecost, which was nearly two months after the resurrection of Jesus, which obviously was after Jesus raised Lazarus.
Then somehow Lazarus and Barnabus disappeared from the story, and I wasn't sure what their connection was with the Dead Sea Scrolls.

An example of editing problems: Cyprus was spelled Cypress several times, Also there was no differentiation between Jews and Christiansas if all Jews were Christians,

I liked Hilal and Thanoon and even Thanoon's smart camel, However, ghouls attacking the Romans was too imaginative for me,

This has got to be the best book I have read recently, and rivals Dan Brown's books.
It was the perfect mix of fact and fiction, The characters were very real, I cared for them deeply from the start, The descriptions made me feel like I was watching a movie, I was involved from the first moment, and at times just couldn't put it down My husband was very sad because I was totally ignoring him.
Sorry I HAVE to find out what happens to Hilal and Thanoon, I can't stop reading right now! What about dinner

Seriously, If you're thinking about it, let me help you, BUY THIS BOOK, but be warned, it will draw you in, and you may not be able to put it down until you finish.
I'm hoping someone from Hollywood picks it up too, This needs to be filmed! An intriguing tale of mystery and suspense, At times the descriptions are so vivid I felt like I was there Born in England and educated in the United Kingdom, Logan Crowe started traveling as a young boy seeking adventure.
