Get Started On Out Of The Pit (Five, #2) Scripted By Holli Anderson Issued In Paper Edition

jumped straight from reading bookin this series, Five out of the Dark, and into this book, If you read my review previously on the first book, you will know that I gave it a four star review as I thought it was a slow starter, but I loved it by the end.
And now I am happy to give this instalment astar review!
Something I really dislike when I read a series is when the next book comes along and half of it is spent going over everything from the previous book.
No problems here! Out of the Pit jumps straight into the story where Out of
Get Started On Out Of The Pit (Five, #2) Scripted By Holli Anderson Issued In Paper Edition
the Dark leaves off, At the end of the last book, Paige has made a deal with a demon, she has cured Johnathan of his werewolf like curse, but in return she has been made blind, and living in a world of darkness.
As well as dealing with that, the Five are still in the throes of a war with Brone, the head teacher in disguise from Out of the Dark, as well as throwing a whole heap of other things at them.

I loved the addition of learning more about Alec into this story, finding out about his parents, and his history, and the added parts of the story they added made me feel like I was getting to know more of the characters better as well as Paige.
There are so many cool mythical creatures to feast upon and the magic is great too!
There are so many twists and turns there is never a dull moment in these books.
Ups and downs, highs and lows, laughter and tears keep coming in abundance and create something exciting to read about on every page, and there is never a dull moment to be seen.

I loved getting lost in the world of the Five and look forward to reading the next instalment, Another amazing book in this fascinating series!!
A fast paced read with twists turns through out, I can't wait for the next one!!! I liked the first one better, this one had too many unnecessary scenes, the way Paige gets her sight back seemed too easy for me, i feel like the whole incubus thing was not needed, I did enjoy the fact that Alec found his mother but other than that Paige and Johnathan fighting all the time was frustrating, Paige getting molested several times was also a bit annoying, either way, It was very fast paced and I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either, It was ok, it was entertaining which I guess serves its purpose but I was expecting more, because i remember liking the first one.
Very satisfyingnd book to compliment book, Couldn't ask for anything more, Love loved it. Did I just read the same author as the first book

This book starts off with Paige fighting against a incubus.
. yes I now know what that is too, Pretty entertaining. This book moves smoothly. The only thing I think this book could have done without is the stupid love angle, I don't think every book needs it and this one gets distracted by it, Yes it's a PG version but dang, I just wanted to smash their smooching heads together,

This book would have actually gotten astar from me if it hadn't had so much teenage angsty love stuff.
YUCK.

There is much going on with demons and boogers getting the smack down, Loved those parts.

There is one character in this book I completely went fangirl over, Surpy!! He reminds me of this guy, . and I love him.

I think the ages ofyear old girls are gonna flip over this series,

I recieved an ARC copy of this book from the publisher Curiosity Quills, Thank you. Very well written and edited, My YA son absolutely loves this series and gives high praise to the second installment, Again we have character development with well fleshed out individuals who face insurmountable odds, Each encounter is rich with detail and pageturning excitement, His only complaint is a few moments in the book with uneven flow to the story, but is quick to point out that it does not detract from the overall quality of the book.
I received an evaluation copy in exchange for an honest review, These are our opinions and may not mirror your own, We received no compensation beyond the free copy, Read more reviews, author interviews and enter giveaways sitelinkon my blog, So onto the second instalment, and I have very deliberately only put a small synopsis so as not to give away anything from Book One this time I was definitely hooked it has to be said.
In a lot of ways this one was better than the first, most likely because the author has done a terrific job with character development and this one is much darker in tone as the story and the protagonists grow up.

The world building in this one is also superior, and the other worldly aspects and the mythology is explored more some of the creatures Imp, ha! are amazingly clever and very well imagined.
I also loved Paige and how she dealt with the hand that was dealt her in “Dark” and her developing relationships, The “Love” angle always to be found in this genre is well established into the tale, if perhaps slightly too much for my personal tastes but the target audience will love it, there is a lot here that teenagers will relate to and be able to get behind.

Overall then, an excellent “Part Two” and with the ending as it was I cant wait for more and if the author again takes the quality up a notch in Bookthen we are looking at a very interesting series to keep an eye on.

Happy Reading Folks! Action packed! I just adore this series and these perfectly imperfect characters, Continuing their journey with them in this second installment was wonderful, and I can't wait for more! Five Out of the Pit by Holli Anderson is a first class sequel.
The Five with their parental figure Joe jump into new adventures, meeting enemies whilst their old enemies lurk in the shadows, As part of their training theyve learned new spells, healing, fighting skills along with the ability to portal or travel quickly to any destination in which they have previously been.
The saga begins where Out of the Dark left off, Paige is blind and they have travelled with Joe their guardian to Moab, Utah, where they have made a home within the rocks.
No time is wasted in this sequel as suspense and action move right in as Paige is tormented by an incubus, a creature of incomprehensible sexual attraction whom has an odd connection to one of The Five.
It is this connection that lands them a new home and sends them spiraling into another adventure which terminates with a bombshell leaving the reader hankering for the next novel in the series.

Hollis vivid imagination makes this book a playful, humorous, and a suspenseful read, She adds just enough details to leave the reader hanging on each word and unable to put the book down, She captures the essence of the teenage spirit through their dialogue, thoughts, actions and wittiness of the characters bringing them to life, The creatures she constructs I found myself cringing at their ugliness and chuckling at her use of descriptive language as she does an incredible job giving them flavor and soul.
There are some new beasts such as an imp, the incubus as well as demons from their past, and a few types of creatures The Five were unable to identify, although colorful descriptions are provided.
The playful tone of Five Out of the Pit makes it an entertaining read that you dont want to miss,

Five Out of the Pit is a clever young adult novel that is truly fun for all ages,
Out of the Pit, as in the pit of Hell, The Five must leave where they were in book one and continue to train with Joe to be able to use their powers and become stronger.
Paige and John continue their little romance, which was not my favorite parts of the story, but we learn more about Alec's parents which is much more interesting.
Best to wait to read this until the next one is published, . . I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review,

Wow! With such a solid first installment, I had high hopes for this second book in the series and it really exceeded my expectations.

We're still with the Five, training and making their way to where they're needed, The training has really ramped up and each member is coming into their powers, Sadly, Paige is still in the same state we saw at the end of the last book, She and John are also filled with oodles of YA angsty goodness, There's your typical "incubus forced me to kiss him" and "I just want to get my sight back" arguments that your normal teenagers have right.

This book was an awesome combination of action, story, heart, drama, and romance jammed into a sort of scifi book, I'm loving each and every character in these books more and more with each passing page, While we don't get a nice, neat ending, we certainly get a great one, I can't wait to sink my teeth into the next book! The Five, also known as the Quinae Praesidia Five Protectors, journey to Moab, Utah.
They need to regroup and develop their powers with help of their mentor, Joe,

Paige is on a quest to discover a cure for Johnathans lycanthropy, Meanwhile, she has caught the attention of an Incubus,

I love that Paige is selfsacrificing, She will do anything to help Johnathan, It was interesting to read about their relationship, They learn a lot about each other and undergo numerous emotions toward each other,

I like how the Five have become like a family in such a short time, It is understandable with everything they have endured together,

I especially enjoyed the introduction of Imp, Surpy, He reminded me of a more mischievous, Doby, from Harry Potter, I loved his little battle of wits with Seth, It definitely added a humor element to the story,

Holli Anderson did an excellent job of including a lot of information and sub stories to this novel while keeping I believable.
The more I learn about the characters the more invested I feel,

Complimentary copy provided by publisher in exchange for an honest review, Holy crap. I just found the cutest couple of the month, . . probably year. Or forever

I totally understand if you guys, at least some of you, would feel that this novel is too cheesy for your taste.
I got to tell you in advance that there will be lots of kisses, lots of affection, and lots of love confession in this book.
You guys who hate that kind of things would not like this book, This could be a little toomuchromanceblargh for some of you, Me well, I love this book, Everything about it. I thought Paige and Jonathan was super cute, I just can't believe tho, that a teenage boy , Jonathan, could have that kind of devotion, But then, this is a novel, anything could happen,

Paige is not exactly the kind of heroine that I would love, I didn't love her by the end of book one, and I never thought I would love her by the end of book two, but I do.
She cries and everything, and not once, but she's also not weepy, She fights, even though she's not that good at it, I don't know why I just love her as she is, Jonathan I love Jhonny even from the start, He's like the sweetest and cutest guy ever, love the romance, I live for it,

Two thumbs up for the writing style! love the first person, When the conflict happens the romance conflict my heart practically broke for her, I connected well with Paige, the narrator,

Overall, there's only one word I would say to describe my feelings for this book: LOVE in caps

sitelink I received a free copy of this book from Curiosity Quills Press in exchange for a review.

This review may contain spoilers,

I did like this book quite a bit more than the first one, With the characters and relationships already established, I found it much easier to care about things like the romance between Paige and Johnathan.

I was quite impressed with how well Paige's blindness came across, I think that writing a character who's missing a sense especially in first person is quite difficult and I didn't notice any occasions where the author slipped up and wrote something Paige shouldn't have been able to know.

I was quite intrigued about what was revealed in regards to Alec, I'm a bit wary of him, though I felt he was abusing his powers a bit throughout the book, Although I liked some of the things with him, that did make him somewhat less sympathetic,

I liked the different types of creatures that there were and there were some parts of the book that made me smile.
The banter between the characters came across really well and I particularly liked the Imp,

I think Halli was probably my favourite character in this book, I did like Paige a bit more, but I also felt that she was beginning to approach the line of ridiculously overpowered, It was fine when they each had their own talent, . . and then Paige suddenly has a second one,

It was interesting to learn about the first Five and I would have liked a bit more background, I think it would be quite interesting to read a prequel to these, with some of the previous Five's stories,

This book ended on something of a cliffhanger and I'd really like to read the next book in the series, When it comes out, I'll definitely look at getting it, .
