So what does this cat do He goes on a European Adventure of course! In verse, the girl chronicles her cat's adventures in England, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, and Holland.

In the book, a valiantlooking cat is standing in the middle of a bull ring, holding his arms out while a perplexed matador and bull look down on him.
On the other side, the cat is dressed in a soccer uniform while ladies cheer him on in the stands,


Kyrsten Brooker's rich and whimsical illustrations give the book an "oldworld" feel and take readers back to another place and time,


Caroline Lazo's words just roll off your tongue and will captivate children who are hearing the book read aloud to them,

In the back of the book, readers can learn more about each country the cat visits, and the end papers depict a map of his adventure.


A book that celebrates imagination and teaches kids a little about geography and other countries, this book makes an excellent choice for plainold read aloud fun!

The illustrations are quite different from what I've seen in other books.
It's pretty cool how it's a mix of collage with oil paint, I really liked the cat and the many adventures the cat supposedly went on, I love the way the book was written, It rhymes so beautifully and it was written cleverly with some foreign words mixed in, but it's obvious to know what they mean, Ruthie says:

'Armchair travel' for the little ones, See Europe with this adventurous cat, I would give this astar and my daughter would give it astar, so I'll go with her rating, I like how they can learn a little about the different countries that the cat visits, My daughter loves the book because on every page, there are "real" things mixed in with the illustrations and she likes to find them, Radically textured paint and collage illustrations combine with informative rhyming text as the imagined journeys of a young girls cat become an upbeat introduction to the landmarks and traditions of Europe.

There are fun facts about England, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Greece, and Holland, This would be a good book for any young child, but it would be an especially nice addition to a homeschool curriculum where the child was studying countries around the world.
This story centers around what the young girl imagines her cat doing when he is away from her house, He has grand adventures all over Europe, Fun and whimsical with rhyming verses on each page, this may make a good read aloud for an older group, but it's definitely over the heads of my preschoolers.
The illustrations are beautiful and the reader could just pour over them,

Eric bought this for Portia when he was in Dallas and I was surprised by how much I like it, Cute rhymes and I love the illustrations and the cat's trip to Europe, I love the explanation of the different countries at the end of the book, This has become a quick favorite at bedtime, A book about a cat who goes to different places around the world, A great book to teach children about places around the world! I liked the rhymes of the book, but was a little disappointed that it was not better.
However, I think I am biased as I dont like anything French and this books has in my opinion too many pages based around France, I would have liked to have seen Russia or Scandinavia, THIS CHARMING, CHILDCENTRIC book offers a glimpse into a cats exciting “other” life, In a little girls fantasy, her cat sneaks away, hops a ship, and sails off to Europe! And someday, when he can talk, hell tell her all about the amazing things he discovered there.
. . like whether or not British cats drink tea, . . and how he strutted down the runway in a Paris fashion show, With facts about each place the cat visits included simply in the rhyming text, and in more detail at the end including a map charting his route, this is sure to provide a great introduction to travel.
