Grab Instantly Pestilence: The Infection Begins Constructed By Craig A. McDonough Published As Interactive EBook
Pestilence: The Infection Begins, Bookof a threebook series, If you liked medical thrillers such as "The Andromeda Strain, ", "Extreme Measures. ", "Contagion. " or any novels involving corruption, conspiracy and a healthy or should that be unhealthy dose of horror then Pestilence is definitely the right book for you.
Apage turner
Good story line very fast paced, very good writing good action all around I would recommend this book to evrryone A great maybe the end of the world read! The first in the series ofbooks.
Really looking forward to reading the next in episode! Liked it!!,stars, rounded up.
CDC Immunologist Grace Delaney heads to Des Moines, Iowa to lead a team in administering vaccines against a deadly virus, the Baltic flu.
But pharmaceutical company Thorn BioTech Industries has an ulterior motive in developing the vaccine and rushing to have it dispensed.
An untested vaccine can only mean trouble, Delaney and the people at Riverside Hospital, will soon be fighting for their survival,
The prologue of this book was very engrossing and I thought I was in for a treat.
Unfortunately, the writing left little to be desired, The characters are flat and difficult to connect with, Not only did I not like Delaney, I despised her, On the cusp of a potential pandemic she is gravely concerned about using the rapidlyproduced vaccine yet turns into an absentminded fool the minute an attractive young doctor enters the picture.
"'Maybe I could transfer here, after these vaccinations are completedjust to monitor the patients of course!'
She covered her mouth to prevent her snickering being heard.
"
Her behaviors are more in tune with middleschoolers than reputable, professional doctors,
The use of "err" and stuttering occurs way too much within the dialogueespecially with Delaney, who is supposed to be a respectable doctor but often comes across as a bumbling idiot.
It's unnatural for so many characters to share the same mannerisms, None of them had unique voices,
“Hmm, yes I see what you mean, I do, Good thinking, err yeah. ”
I also came across too much colloquial language"pissed off," "tight buns," etc, which detracted from what should have been a serious tone,
And don't get me started on the author's fixation with breasts and critism of overweight people.
I thought it was all very immature, quite frankly,
" It was during this encounter with death and oversized tits that he had got a hardon, the most arousing cockthrobbing hardon ever.
"
Really eye roll
Plus, there are several typos, which typically I overlook, but in this case they annoyed me.
The story had a good premise but failed miserably upon execution, It doesn't quite end, either, as you need to read the sequel to learn what happens to the characters.
As I honestly didn't care about any of them, I won't be continuing with this series.
An interesting book because it is set around the lead up to an outbreak, rather than after the fact.
Full of corruption from all sides as well as the plight of people at the centre of the disaster.
Nicely written, not particularly fast paced but flows well, with characters that became easier to connect with as the story progressed.
This was an ARC, my opinions are my own,
I read this through from start to finish with no pause, Being a fan of medical thrillers / viruses and programmes likes 'Monsters Inside Me', I was always going to want to read this.
This is extremely fast paced, right from the beginning, The author has the main female lead as a very attractive yet assertive female character who is not afraid to speak her mind.
There are lots of fairly gory scenes, plenty of corruption and backstabbing from all angles and some underlying dark humour just for good measure.
Not one for easily offended people, one thing there are not lots of is political correctness actually a refreshing change in these modern times, and it is part of the humorous element in the dialogues.
Mixed in with all of the above however are some very valid points based on actual fact and also possible truths that will have people questioning their own ideals this is not just a complete work of fiction for the conspiracy theory brigade.
This element of seriousness works as a great balance to the over the top action elsewhere and compliments the storyline perfectly.
Unfortunately let down by bad editing which detracts from the story slightly, this is a/book but still demands attention.
I'm already hooked and ready for the second book in the series! I love this amp I can't wait for more.
I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads Amazon,
And letting everyone know about it,
So i gave it aStars, just couldn't stand all the politics, the story would've been great without it, Interesting
Interesting, Full of action. Not my genre but still enjoyed the book, Might even read the next one, Well see. Ive had a life long love of horror thanks to my father who enthralled me with the movies of Dracula, the Wolfman, and Frankensteins Monster it was only natural that one day it would rub off and so now I write my own horror/thrillers.
I spent some time in the Army, practiced in the Martial Arts Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu, worked as a Security Officer night shift! and lets not forget worked in a cemetery so I have a lot of influences from which to draw on.
Toward the Brink my flagship series contains elements of horror, thriller, zompoc, and military action in a how the hell are we going to survive setting.
