Vicknair is happy running the women's shelter and helping take care of the people staying there, especially trying to connect with Hannah, the little girl with her mother from an abusive home.
Then, suddenly, she ends up in a vision what she at first thinks is a dream, of being with a very sexy man and having very intense sex with him.
Nick Madere of course knows it's not a dream because he's a psychic with the ability to connect to people through photos.
He's searching for a missing girl, Emma, and through his connection to her, he ends up in Jenee's bedroom, This happens repeatedly, as the two go about their particular missions, and even though they can't speak to each other, they bond and grow closer.
Jenee worries that Nick is a spirit of some kind and they won't have a future together, Nick is determined to find her and the little girl that is somehow connected to her.
So this had so much sex in it, Pretty much every time Jenee and Nick got together, we are treated to a very hot, intense round of sex in which poor Nick can't hear anything and Jenee can't hear him.
They have some awesome chemistry and their bond through nothing but sex was, strangely, believable, Despite all this, Jenee and Nick don't actually meet facetoface and speak to one another until themark, so there's an unfortunate lack of interaction outside of the visions which I would have really loved to see.
It was also extremely disappointing that .
I felt cheated somehow. This needed an epilogue. Also, because Jenee doesn't live at the plantation, there isn't as much Vicknair interaction either though I am extremely interested in what is going to happen with Nanette and Charles.
The highlight of this story was the suspense surrounding Hannah Fossett and Nick's trying to track down the missing Emma.
The author was so good at maintaining that suspense that at one point, when further progress was interrupted by another sex scene, I found myself wanting to skim through it so I could see what Nick was going to do with his new information.
I also really liked the paranormal aspect particularly Nick's gift, The medium thing is cool enough, add in a psychic and they're inadvertently connecting because of their gifts and it was even better.
Nice setting, disappointing ending, good investigation, Part of a series, but work well as a standalone
HBZSet in New Orleansyears after Katrina, its the story ofpsychics that fall in love in the Astral plain and on the way to fining each other they help a little girl who was kidnapped.
Next to last in the series by Kelley St John about a family of mediums in New Orleans, Not my favorite of the bunch, but a quick, fun read,
Jenee's task as a Vicknair medium is to help children who have died cross over, She knows she's about to receive a 'job' when she's sucked into dreams, However, this dream is VERY different, Instead of a child, there's a hot, sexy, hunk of man in her dream, Thinking it's 'just' a dream, she has dream sex with her hunk
who promptly disappears as soon as they finish! And this happens again and again and she finally figures out that these are more vision than dream.
She can only hope they'll acutally meet in person!
Nick left New Orleans after Katrina took the rest of his family.
He uses his 'gift' to help locate missing children, His latest case is weird in that every time he tries to find the child, he instead envisions a very sexy lady and has sex with her, then disappears.
He's determined to find both the child and the woman,
The last book should be a hot one, It's about the oldest, Nanette, and her feud with an old boyfriend, Look for "Live and Yearn" in September, A good story!! Like able characters and doesn't have the "eyeroll" factor that many romances have, I didn't really like the writing on this one, I liked the paranormal aspect though, This book had an interesting if entirely different plot from the general girl meets boy simple romance, The sex scenes may have had a completely unrealistic feel to them but they worked with the general story, The main characters were well written but the supporting characters that the plot revolved around were less well developed, Secondary characters from related books were presented in such a way as to indicate that there was a side story/book but they also were not well developed.
Overall the book was just what I was expecting a quick easy listen without much drama, Talk about dreamy sex
Medium/social worker Jenee Vicknair can hardly think straight these days, . . and it's all because there's a sinfully sexy stranger sharing her bed every night, Her mystery man instinctively knows how to touch her, how to kiss her, how to drive her out of her mind with desire.
It's a relationship she'd like to explore, . . if only he didn't disappear, literally, the moment the deed was done,
Private investigator/psychic Nick Madere has never been on a case like this one, He's looking for a missing child, but whenever he uses his psychic abilities, he ends up in bed with a woman who's too sexy for her own good.
Not that he's
complaining, . . But time is running out, If he doesn't find the child soon, not to mention the woman who's haunting his dreams, he might just lose them both!.
