on 血の轍 3 [Chi no Wadachi 3]

Three ended on a point where you cant decide whether to sympathize for characters or let them go.
In any case, you will have no choice but to stick around once the story hooks you in to watch what happens next.
. This series gives me chills, Some of the panels are so anxiety inducing and haunting, that I found myself focusing in on them.
. . they're so detailed. I highly recommend.
TW: Abuse. Mommy ain't playing no more, TW: parental abuse

Now we really delve deeper into the consequences of the abuse,

Seichi's developped a speech impediment, Seiko is starting to crack, . .

I would believe that she suffers from schizophrenia, She seems to speak to an invisble version of baby Seichi, I think the main thing is that she doesn't have control on her son like she used to and she is slowly starting to break.

Oshimi's use of eyes and mouths is very hypnotic and mirrors the manipulation and gaslighting of the mother.
Seiko uses her words to manipulate her son and warp his reality, I think the art style and intense use of shadow helps demonstrate that, Like his reality is being darkened and morphed into the darkness that consumes the mother, . . very chilling. Seiichi and his mother begin to unravel under the weight of their shared secret, That which once cleaved them together begins to cleave them apart,

The super decompressed storytelling again makes this book a swift read that leaves you wanting the next one immediately.
Fortunately I have one more on hand,

WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS Wow, this keeps getting more and more wild with every volume.
Also, my heart is breaking for this kid, like damn, his mom is the actual worst THAT ENDING!! Cant.
Wont. Glad I tried.
pages in and I still dont understand what the point even is Seiko's getting nuts for good here!
The more I read it, the more intriguing it becomes, makes me wonder which kind of longterm effects it would bear on Sei.
So disturbing. Im invested now Low key probably the best manga series Ive ever read, I cant stop reading it, .Stars, rounded up

The psychological horror is building as the family falls apart, and as a reader, you feel an increasing sense of helplessness from not being able to help Sei.
He is at his mother's mercy, and his father is clueless, “The

ultimate toxic parent, ”

This manga just keeps getting creepier, Utterly gutwrenching. Blood on the Tracks gets under your skin and makes it crawl,

After reading just three volumes, this already ranks as the best ongoing series for me.
Oshimi has perfected the art sequential storytelling imo, His pacing is just immaculate and he uses extreme closeups, POV shots, light and shadow, and characters that stare straight at you from the page to totally immerse you in each scene.
There's actually very little dialogue, I love how Oshimi emphasizes the facial expressions and body language of his characters,

I think I forgot to exhale reading this, it's that gripping, This manga is so damn intense, Seiichi is basically suffering from PTSD as he struggles to cope with what his mother has done.
I dont really know how to describe how uncomfortable this manga is to read, You know theres something wrong with his mother but as a reader there isnt anything that you can do to help him.
What never ceases to amaze me about this series is that there are so few words on a single page.
So the reader is forced to connect with the art which is the most disturbing aspect of it all.
I literally felt haunted looking at the pages of art that showcase their downfall, If youre into horror/psychological thrillers this definitely might be the series for you, WHAT IS GOING ON OOKKKKKK, welp this was one intense volume and that mom definitely needs some help given all that we have seen in this volume.
Clearly something happened when Sei was born given the conversation in one of the chapters, On the one hand I feel sorry for the mom, on the other hand I am telling everyone to just freaking run run and run.
What I said about the dad in the previous volume, it doesnt seem like he knew his wife was doing this badly.

And poor Sei, who has regressed back to stuttering and not being able to talk without making weird faces and forcing it all out.
My heart just broke for him, The whole Shigeru event, what mom did after the girl left, and all the other little things, and that big thing in the last chapter, he is just broken.
I wonder if anyone can help him, Maybe the girl who likes him as she worries and knows that mom probably did something, Then again, I wouldnt try to get near the mom she is so volatile, Her thoughts go from wanting to die to murder to coddling and protection to happy and teehee.
She sees Sei at times without him being there as seen in aftermaths of the conversation as she was petting an invisible child.

Poor Shigeru btw, my heart broke for him and the family,
The art was once again not always to my cup of tea but definitely added to the creepy and uneasy atmosphere.
Especially that last chapter was well done,
OK, I am taking a break from this, Yes, I would love to read on, I really do, but I dont want to race through the series in one go, Plus, I definitely need something cute and fluffy now after reading this disturbing story,
