story: LAME is back, and, . . as lame as ever! After getting more confident in their mediocre powers over the past few months, the quartet is astounded to discover that a group of jocks are masquerading as them! Not surprisingly, Darth Susan is the insidious person behind it all, as she continues her quest to close down Otto Waddell Middle School and bring about her own early retirement.

Liz's comments: Just as in stories starring Greg Heffley, don't read this if you're looking for real character growth, or even a real plot, However, kids looking for light entertainment and a laugh or two yup, theof your students who read "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books by choice will like this too.

In book two of the Geeked Out series, Tip and his friends are back at their post apocalyptic world, brought on by a horrible film sequel.
At Otto Waddle Jr. High Government Outpost something seems to be going even more terribly awry than usual, Another group of students is weirdly impersonating LAME, the groups name and mediocre super powers, and they must fight to save their school, even though it is a decided dive.

While the first book was wildly funny, this book spends too much time reviewing the plot setup of book one, and the humor and plot line didnt seem as fresh.
Its still a fun toss up of line drawings and story, but the plot wasnt as engaging or fleshed out,

Michelle in the Middle, Teacher
sitelink blogspot. com/ Billed as dystopia meets Wimpy Kids, Tip and his friends have discovered they possess mild superpowers super burping, super hearing, super clapping, and turning things on/off with their mind and they use these powers to save their middle school from the evil school secretary, Darth Susan.
Formerly the AV club, Tip and his friends now go by LAME, or the League of Average and Mediocre Entities, The drawings are fun and there are some clever jokes along the way, e, g. , the apocalypse was caused by the “fanatics” who hated the third installment of the popular Sand Thrower movies so much that they left the theaters and began destroying the Earth.
The font is very basic and not graphical as readers might expect, This might be a change of pace for fanatical Wimpy Kid readers who want to try a new genre but with so many excellent graphical books and dystopian titles to select from, not highly recommended.
Bookin a postapocalyptic parody series!

Otto Waddle Junior High School is worse than ever, Tip and his geeky friends have finally come into their superpowerswell, their mediocre powersbut the League of Average Mediocre Entities now has a whole new cast of enemies to take on.
LAME is being challenged by LAMERa rival group of impersonators who are pawns in Darth Susans evil plot against them, If middle school has any chance of survival, Tip and his friends are going to need to be nerdier than ever, It was just OK. There were definitely some laugh out loud moments, and I did get invested, But the thing is it is an end of the world parody, And there were some awkwardly, . um . . realistic moments. A good example is when the protagonist makes a comment in his head about how the government would lock him and his friends in CAGES if they found out about their powers.

I mean . theyve done it for worse reasons, Although the author has provided more details about the dystopian world in which this funny series is set, I'd still love to have more information about the state of things and how Darth Susan got so much power at Otto Waddle Junior High School.
Fans of the first book in this series will be just as entertained as they were the first time around, In this title, Timothy Tip Dover and his nerdy AV Club friendsthe AV stands for Avoid Violenceare doing okay now that they have a few special abilities, But when another group of students pretends to be them, and Tip knows that those LAMERs are up to no good and must be stopped, Middle grade readers are sure to be entertained by all the action and drama and references to popular culture, I'd doubt that this could happen, all as the result of FANATICS' unhappiness with a movie or a television program, but then again, look at the reaction to Game of Thrones' last episode.
Perhaps the author is making more of a social commentary with his book than might be visible on the surface, I'll be interested in reading any other books he creates since his reality often seems not far away from what's happening today, SM Obert Skye read his first book at age two, He wrote his first story at age four, And he was nearly trampled by a herd of water buffalo at age six, For a short time, he lived on the Isle of Skye in Scotland, where he spent time as a candy taster, Several years ago, Obert Skye says, he discovered the existence of Foo, Publishing his story as a fictional
