Reading this book has made me feel guilty for not doing more to help the Karens, those still in Asia and those who have emigrated to the States and some of the latter living not far from where I live.
This book brings together all the pieces of information and historical events that I have previously heard from my older generation and others who have had their firsthand experiences.
It portrays the oppressions and human rights abuses by the military regime and the sufferings of the Karen people that I have not been aware of before.
