you love it when you discover a new author whose books and writing style you enjoy
That's my feeling after reading The Protector's Promise, Now to read more works by Shirlee McCoy, I normally like books written by Shirley McCoy however this one was a hard read, my reasoning for that is the "relationship" type feelings were thrown into first gear within the first few pages, now I know all harlequin are love stories but this one seemed too forced, Grayson displayed his feelings within the first few pages after just meeting honor and throughout the whole book he kept forcing his feelings on honor, he didn't take no for an answer, it was frustrating that honor had stated and restated many times she didn't want a relationship and the feeling I got from Grayson was he didn't care what she did or didn't want.
I hope other books aren't like this, I really wanted to enjoy the storyline but the forcefulness of it made it hard to do so, The Sinclair Brothers
Book
In this book we meet Grayson, He lives up the road from his new neighbor, In fact, he was gone caring for his brother who'd been involved in a horrible hitandrun accident and didn't even know they'd moved in! For him, it was instant attraction! But the widowed Honor Malone had no intention of ever getting involved with a man again.
Her first marriage hadn't been anything to sigh about and she wanted nothing more than to raise her fouryearold daughter and help heryear old sisterinlaw get started in life while working twelve hour night shifts at the local nursing home.
But somebody was out to get Honor, The ending was a total surprise to me, I can honestly say I did NOT see that one coming! Enjoy another great book by Shirlee McCoy! I am quite tempted to get all of Shrilee's books,
The three books I have read of hers so far have all been great,
This book was a toss up to who was the criminal up until the lastpages or so, Shirlee McCoy is a master at romantic inspirational suspense, I discovered her earlier this year and I am determined to read all her books, I'm kinda bingeing right now on them! Love them so much, And I especially love her strong spiritual elements to the story, They truly speak to my heart, I highly recommend this author, When Grayson meets his new neighbor Honor, he at first mistakes her for a vagabond trespassing in the small bungalow that sits up against the back of his property.
Turns out, his brother entered a rent to own agreement with a young mother of ayear old and guardian to a college girl that is her sister in law.
Almost immediately he is sure that this is all part of God's plan, now if he could only convince Honor,
Honor is over men, Over romance. Over the idea of the fairy tale ending where the prince swoops in to save the princess, She'll do her own swooping, thank you very much, After all, after the death of her unfaithful husband, she's through with relying on other people, She's strong enough to provide a life for her two charges without help, But when a stalker starts threatening her, maybe it wouldn't be so bad to accept the help of her handsome neighbor who refuses to leave her alone when he feels her and her two girls' lives are threatened.
Maybe Lilly Mae is right and his is a prince, . .
This book was good, Much better then the one about Grayson's brother which I accidentally read first, While Grayson's attraction is immediate, he takes a long while to convince Honor that perhaps she feels the same about him, This book isn't so much about two people rapidly falling in love and sticking the danger out together as it is about a man trying to protect a woman he thinks he could grow to love while giving her the room to figure out her own feelings.
And unlike his brother Jude's story, the author doesn't insult the reader by hastily writing in a marriage proposal that is far too soon in the relationship and the promise of a whirlwind marriage taking place in a month.
months is an insanely short amount of time to meet someone, fall in love , propose and get married in, This book does not do that, thank god!!!!
In Conclusion
Better read than the third book in the series, It was really good. It wasn't just a romance it was more to do with the mystery Who could want to hurt a little girl in a pink princess dress Grayson Sinclair vows to find out who's after his widowed neighbor and her child.
Without getting emotionally involved. Family life isn't for him, but he won't let some deranged person destroy the lovely home Honor Milone has made for her daughter, From strange "gifts" left on her doorstep to attempted murder, someone means deadly business,
Grayson promises to protect Honor and the little girl who sneakily stole his heart, Just in time. For the threat is closer to home than anyone realizes, .
