The Blood Traitor is therd and final episode in The Prison Healer trilogy by talented Aussie author Lynette Noni.
I was sad when Id read the last page The Blood Traitor is such a spectacular conclusion! Heartbreaking, poignant, magical, tensionfilled I could go on! I thoroughly enjoyed most of the characters the cousins, Jaren and Caldon, were exquisite all Kivas friends were very likeable, while the bad guys were really bad! I highly recommend sitelinkThe Blood Traitor and the complete The Prison Healer trilogy to fans of YA, fantasy and a well written story!

With thanks to Penguin Random House AU for my ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.

such a great finale to a really awesome series,

this wraps up the story in an enjoyable way, but also improves it, the character development and relationships are ones that i always rooted for, the plot gets an awesome side quest that expands the worldbuilding, and the writing has a quality that makes you dying to say “just one more chapter.
” its nearly perfect!

bit again, the only reason this isnt gettingis just how convenient some of the reveals and events tend to be.
and even though they seem a little too perfect, the overall effect is pretty successful as

i always felt invested in the plot and storyline regardless.

so im really quite pleased with this, an entertaining story from the very first page of the first book to the last page of this one,

.stars “Everyone deserves to have someone fight for them, evenand especiallywhen they're unable to fight for themselves.

I could not have asked for a better final book to this trilogy, There was trauma and healing, angst and romance, battles and quests, character growth and great dialogue, and a plot that left me speechless.
The Blood Traitor was a love letter to the power of friendship, the value of human life, and the strength that can be found in the darkest places literally and figuratively.
The author handles rather dark subject matters with care and consideration, with enough moments of banter and joy to counterbalance the heaviness of Kiva's emotional journey.

“We can look at the darkness and let it consume us, or we can recognize that its only temporary, trusting that once it passes, the light will return.

My favorite part of this series, especially the second and third books, is the friendships, Romance remains a key aspect of the plot, but some of Kiva's closest relationships are entirely platonic, Caldon supports her and loves her no matter her failings, and she gives the same thing to him, The way he is ready to help her heal without strings attached was touching, as was her willingness to hold him up as well.
Kiva's bond with Cresta remains truly aweinspiring, I'll admit I cried my way through the first forty pages, so Cresta's loyalty and sharp wit were irreplaceable, Strong female friendships that actually take time to develop are so rare in YA, making this book even more precious.

“There is no such thing as beyond repair, You're breathing, aren't you You're still alivethat means you can fix what you've broken, ”

Kiva's internal journey was perhaps more important than the external conflict, From her selfhatred to battling with her own demons, her mental health was never brushed aside or ignored, The other characters didn't treat her differently because of her struggles, instead helping her find the light, Mental healthespecially as a reaction to traumais all too often ignored in books that are eager to move past human emotions in favor of a plot.
I am so grateful that Lynette Noni recognized the importance of portraying brokenness, and that she didn't have a relationship act as a magical cure for trauma.

“Small steps are still steps, ”

The external conflict was pretty good, with enough action and dialogue to keep me turning pages, Though I wasn't a huge fan of the twist at the end, I do understand why it was necessary from a literary standpoint.
The villain's motivations weren't the most logical I hate evil for evil's sake, but since the plot was entertaining, I can't complain too much.
Though we follow upwards of ten characters, I was easily able to keep them all straight because of their defined personalities and speaking styles.
I never had to ask myself who was who, which made the book all the more fun to read,

“What happens now"
"Now, we dream, ”

There is so so so much to talk about regarding The Blood Traitor and this series in general, but since I would like to avoid spoilers, I'll end here.
All in all, you should go read this series for yourself, I promise you won't be disappointed, This is the third instalment in the Prison Healer series,

Kiva awakens into a nightmare, One that was her only existence for much of her life and one she thought she had escaped from, forever.
An unlikely ally forces her trust and, together, they must fight for their freedom, from their fears and their surroundings, if they are ever to see their kingdom freed from its wrongful reign.

This entire series has been such a fastpaced and thrilling ride, Every instalment was full of scenes of action with characters who stole my heart and a plot that never ceased from its lightening speed.

This final instalment saw my beloved individuals reunite and fight together for peace, I longed for a reconciliation between relationships I adored just as much as I did to see this kingdom returned to its rightful ruler and for the innocent to be freed from the barbarity they had long been subjected to.
Every aspect I yearned for was delivered and I thought this the perfect conclusion for a solidly enjoyable series, full of as much magic as it was heart.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, Thank you to the author, Lynette Noni, and the publisher, Hodder amp Stoughton, for this opportunity, The fact that I devoured this trilogy in less then a week should speak for itself, I loved my reading time and will definitely buy hardcover copies of these books YA isnt something I talk about or recommend often but I have mentioned my love of the Prison Healer series a number of times since I joined Bookstagram.
So you can only imagine my pure excitement for the third and final books release,

It is truly hard to put into words just how incredible this series is, Each and every character has a piece of my heart, always and forever,

This was a perfect conclusion to a rough road for Kiva and the gang and my heart is so very happy.

The story in itself was extremely refreshing and I loved every part of it, But the real of the shows were the characters, Somehow, Lynette made me fall in love with not just one, but two blondes!

In all seriousness, this series is so incredibly high on my most reads list and the conclusion was everything the series and characters needed.

Its tough I mean, theres a prison, heartbreaking, funny, heartwarming and all around a beautifully written story,

P. S. Caldon fan club president. Always.

A few notes and quotes:
Cresta,
“Youre like an annoying rash youve grown on me, ”
Kivas got balls!
“Youre very forceful for a maid, ”
“Get it out, Sunshine, Youre all right. Im here. ”
Hate seeing my little Kiva in pain!!!
We got a who did this to you!!
“Come and wake me.
Ill battle your demons for you,
“Sure. Well take snacks. Itll be fun”

I basically highlighted everything Caldon said but didnt want to spoil it all I doubt I'm still alive.

Maybe I'll be born again to write a review,

The Finale!! Gimme it, . .

We have a cover and a synopsis,

The cover design gets better, . .
Hopefully the story will too,
