نجمات للرقة والجمال بناء سردي غير مألوف لكنه مميز. تحتاج الرواية لقارئ صبور ليرى كيف ستتلاقى وتتشابك مصائر الأشخاص. لغة جزلة وسلسة. فصل "قبل الأبد بقليل" ممتع. فكرة "رصيد الوقت" مذهلة وجديرة بأن تكون حجر أساس لرواية ديستوبيا من الطراز الرفيع. شكرا على هذه المتعة. تعليقي الوحيد أن النهاية كانت ملتبسة بعض الشيء لكن ربما تتضح لي بصورة أفضل بعد قراءة ثانية من افضل ما قرأت في.

a magnificent, richly imagined novel which belies a murmuring sorrow, mohamed kheir's slipping eflat al asabea is phantasm in poetic prose.
set after the failed arab spring uprising, the egyptian author's first novel rendered into english is, at once, a dreamlike labyrinth, an amalgamation of the magical and the mundane, a dirge or lament for a possible future far from fruition, and a heady, aesthetically wondrous evocation so many things, yet so unlike anything else.


the world of slipping is both enchanting and elusive, and kheir's intoxicating imagery bewitches the reader so much that it bestows a sort of narrative punchdrunkenness of which nobody could possibly yearn for sobriety from.
kheir's story is infused with a liminal ambiguity, like a mindhaze that softens the edges and blurs the borders and it works to remarkable effect though they could not be more dissimilar, the varied tones and textures of what dreams may come came to mind throughout.
slipping is personal, slipping is political, yet neither of those things are explicitly evident.
kheir's novel is a splendid curio, like a technicolor multimedia exhibition of the subconscious, this one invites multiple revisits, but, rest assured, slipping's utter beauty is breathtaking to behold, however deeply you wade in its restorative waters regardless of whether you can walk upon them.

.stars إن لم يخلى أسلوب الراوي من إسلوب جميل في سرد روايته إلا أنها رواية تشعرك بأنها مجموعة من القصص القصيرة تتركب لتصنع سرد لعمل روائي واحد لا أريد الإسهاب في عمل زاد البعض من مدحه وأرى أنه عمل جيد يمكن قراءته دون أن تعد على نفسك دقائق الندم وفي نفس الوقت لن يفوتك شيئا إن لم تقرأه أسلوب ملفت جدا في كتابة بعض المشاهد. هذا عمل مختلف عن بقية الروايات العربية Im not always wild about magical realism, but this made the unreality seem like a natural outgrowth of the social and political turmoil Egypt has experienced over the last decade.

متاهة قصيرة من الحكايات والشخصيات لطيفة الأثر بأسلوب شاعري هو الحقيقة الوحيدة الواضح أثرها في صفحات ملؤها الهذيان والتيه يصعب أن تمسك بخيط أحداثها أو تجزم بحقيقة شخصياتها أو تتأكد من مغزاها سيصيبك التشتت أكثر من مرة لكن سينجح خيط سحر خفي في اجتذابك لإكمالها كلما فكرت في تركها قبل النهاية استفزتني فقرأت ما كتب عنها علني أجد إجابات عن أسئلة لا إجابة لها وانتهى بي المطاف وأنا على نفس حيرتي تجاهها بكل تفاصيلها معترفا بأنها رغم كل شيء تجربة غريبة تستحق القراءة وأن قلم محمد خير قلم أصيل يستحق المزيد من الاهتمام

المتعة أحد شروط الكتابة المهمة هذا تصورى وإيمانى منذ زمن لم تجبرنى رواية على إكمالها فى جلسة واحدة ولكن رواية "إفلات الأصابع" أجبرتنى على المواصلة بغموضها المحبب وبقدرتها على التشويق وبلغتها الأقرب إلى عزف سيمفونى وبتقاطع مصائر الشخصيات فيها إلى حد لا يصدق إلى حد التطابق أحيانا سيف وبحر علياء وليلى أو ليلى فى النهاية إلخ, رواية تنطلق من الأرض لكنها ما تلبث أن تندفع باتجاه المجهول رواية لا تعدم المسلمات لكنها لا تصل إلى نتيجة مفترضة رواية تلامس اليقين لكنها فى نهاية تدفعك للشك فى كل شىء الشك فى الواقع وأيضا فى تلك العوالم الغريبة التى يقطعها بحر وسيف الشك كذلك فى شخصيات الرواية نفسها فلا تكاد تعلم إن كانت موجودة فعلا أم أنها من خيال الرواة! هل عاشت هنا أم أنها تعيش الآن فى الكابوس! هل تحيا فى الواقع أم تتحرك كأطياف فى عالم الموت! إنها رواية على أطراف كل شىء على أطراف واقع هش شديد الهشاشة قد يتحطم فى أى لحظة مثل تلك القرية التى يعيش سكانها فى منازل بدون أسقف ويهربون إلى الزوايا زوايا غرفهم كلما حلت الكارثة على أطراف حلم قد يتحول إلى كابوس محكم كما جرى لسكان قرية كاملة قرروا ترك عظام أسلافهم وحياتهم وراء ظهورهم. هذه رواية محكمة البناء لغتها رائعة كل

مقطع فيها يكاد أن يكون قصيدة نثر متفردة كل مقطع يشبه قطعة فنية ثمينة قطعة فنية تشكل وجهة نظر خاصة فى الحياة والكتابة. كل مقطع لا يعدم وجود فكرة أو بالمعنى الدارج لا يعدم الحكمة لغة وأفكار تضعنا بامتداد الرواية فى مواجهة كاتب من الطراز الرفيع اسمه محمد خير. نقلة حقيقية لمحمد خير كروائي وسارد وإضافة هامة للرواية المصرية والعربية عموما. بناء فريد كمتاهة من الشخصيات والأماكن والحكايات الصغيرة المنفصلة المتصلة. ولغة تستعير من الشعر جوهره لا زخارفه وتهويماته. الواقع التاريخي السياسي بعنفه يبدو غائما وبعيدا وكأنه في عالم آخر لكنه يمسك بخناق مصائر الأشخاص لا يفلتهم. I had my doubts about Mohamed Kheir's Slipping, The Slipping's being promoted as a novel of magical realism set in Egypt during the Arab Spring, with comparisons to the works of other writers in the genre, including Gabriel García Márquez.
Slipping, however, lacks the straightforward narrative line of, say, Love in the Time of Cholera, which makes it a more challenging read, despite its brevity.
I found I had to put in significant work sorting out characters and chronology and was dubious about the title for much of the time I read it.
Individual pieces were interesting, but the relationship among them was not clear,

I am hugely grateful that I stuck with this title, The pieces do fall into place by the conclusionand the narrative that they become assembled into is gripping and original.
The payoff at the novel's end is huge, Surprises about characters and events abound, I strongly recommend this title if you enjoy magical realism of if you're interested in the excellent writing being done currently by Arab authors.
