Catch Hold Of Dual Destruction (Duality #1) Brought To You By Kate Hawthorne Delivered In Leaflet

on Dual Destruction (Duality #1)

I loved the way he did what he was told even though he hated it,

Holy wow, I was so keen for this novel as soon as I read 'Owned for the New Year' which was released as part of the Winter Wonderland giveaway at the beginning of this year, and let me just say that it did not disappoint!

"I'll come back in one piece," I promised him.

"And you stay in one piece, The only person who gets to take you apart is me, "

Sage and Foster are the same dynamic characters that we met in the short novella, but with so much more depth about them, and we get much more insight into their lives outside of that cabin over New Years.
It was an absolute joy coming along on the enemiestolovers ride that these characters hated to love so much,

"I'm not dead yet," Golden countered with a smirk, a blunt reminder that the man who came to heel for me was a fucking hurricane,

And I absolutely love the relationship that these two have, I won't go into detail because I want to keep this review spoilerfree, but these are two men who prefer to live their life on the darker and more dangerous side of the spectrum, and that most definitely transitions into the bedroom as well, but that just means that witnessing the smallest moments of compassion and love between the two of them is that much sweeter.

"My name is Foster Golden, and if you weren't sure, let me confirm for you that I do in fact kill people for a living, I'm fucking good at it, so the only reason you and your son are alive is because I want you to be, And to be honest, I don't even want you alive that much, I just don't want him to be mad at me,

I'll conclude this review by saying that books featuring BDSM are generally not more forte, It's not really my thing, and so I don't normally read about it because I can't connect to the characters in the way I normally like, HOWEVER. I can say that I definitely enjoyed those aspects in this novel and let me just tell y'all that they are hot with a capital H,

If you're looking for a book that's got an enemiestolovers trope, a little bit or more than a little of violence, and two characters who are forces of nature with a rather intense sex life, then I would definitely recommend this book to you.
STARS
I really, really wanted to like this book but from the beginning until the end I felt like I was missing a big part of the background story.
Like I fell right in the middle of the plot and everything was happening so fast and wasn't sure I even understood the conflict and the solution of it.
I'm guessing Foster's friends are part of a universe I'm not aware of, because it felt like this was some sword of cameo, And as I have never read a book by this author at least ¾ of the story were a big question mark for me,

I think a warning or an author's note at the beginning would've been pretty useful, As confused as I was about these characters and the whole past cabin story, I couldn't connect with the plot or even

understand their motives and personalities, The main part of the story seemed to have happened in another book, for real, That ruined the book for me, I didn't enjoy the book as much as I would've wanted,

Let's be honest, this plot has everything to be perfect, We have:
Assassins
Mafia
Hot men
Smut
An amazing SampM relationship

But it was totally lacking:
Background story for new readers
Action.
I really missed this. The action scenes were omitted, And I don't know about you, but if I'm getting assasins and mafia, there should be some action scenes in between somewhere, There were none. The only one being at the beginning with Sage and it was good, But then we got nothing, Absolutely nothing.

And again, I didn't understand the conflict and it's solution, As most of the action happened off page I felt like this whole fightingfortheirlives plot was nothing more than a big misunderstanding and it all ended with them being like "haha whoops.
my bad ".

I'm sad I really wanted to love this book, Sage and Foster seem really lovable and exciting, but I couldn't get to really know them, there was almost no relationship developing because it was supposed to have happened in the past but we got no details.
Ugh. I'm frustrated. Sorry.

I guess if you're a fan of the author and know who the secondary characters are, you will definitely love this book, but for a newcomer like me, it flopped really bad Can we all take a minute a bow down to the queen of MM BDSM romance My goodness, Kate Hawthorne has blown me away with this one.
Of everything I have ever read by this author spoiler alert: I've read every single book, this is hands down the best one ever,

First. Stop and be sure to read the prequel before you pick up Dual Destruction, It's a necessary short story to get you all the background on Sage and Foster, Kate does not back up and replay scenes from the prequel, so do yourself a favor and read it so you better appreciate Sage and Foster here,

Okay onto the book review,

Oh, my heart, How many ways can you say I love you without uttering those three words According to Sage and Foster, tons, In nearly every conversation. Especially those laced with threats of submission, domination, blood, tears, and pounding heartbeats,

This book explored how to love someone without traditional aspects attached to it, Sage and Foster delve into obsession, jealousy, territorial protective instincts, and the baser desires of BDSM, Let me tell you that I cannot explain the number of times I swooned for these two, Five doesn't even begin to cover my love of SampF who have undoubtedly become my alltime favorite couple written by Kate Hawthorne,

Run, don't walk and get this book for yourself ASAP, .

Dual Destruction a wonderful title choice I might say starts off with us learning what Foster has been up to since his weekend with Sage, Not much time has passed, Foster is still on vacation from work, but hes already itching over Sage, As much as he wants to, he cant get the man to leave his head, We get to see the hidden vulnerabilities hes keeping from everyone, including his best friends, Those vulnerabilities are what made me instantly love Foster to begin with, Hes a not quite villain, not quite hero that desperately longs to feel wanted and loved, Although, he will never admit that,

Then we get to peer into Sage and what hes been doing, Sage was always the mystery man, since the prequel was from Fosters POV, We instantly get into Sages mind as well, and just from the beginning its easy to see why he chooses to be a Dom, Although he exhibits control and confidence in his every day life, it appears hes not always the one in control, So its no wonder he looks for that elsewhere,

Someone is out to kill Sage, A many someones. And after a near death encounter Sage ends up bloody at Fosters doorstep, A dangerous feat. Then a beautiful push and pull of dominance, submissiveness and letting go ensues,

“The thought of walking out of this house, leaving him behind It wasnt an option, I didnt know when it had happened, when my feelings moved from pure desire to the need for ownership, but Id told him before, Id told him I owned him, and I didnt know why Id expected him to listen to the warning while not heeding it myself, Golden came apart for me, then and now, and I wanted to spend the rest of my probably very short life putting him back together, ”

Ugh I fucking love the “relationship” these two characters have, Its not your every day, oh Im in love with you type of relationship, Its a relationship of power and control where both parties, but especially Foster, is learning to give themself over to another human being, I absolutely love the struggles being shown on page on how they both need to bow down to the feelings theyre having,

The only issue I had with this book was all of the sex, There was A LOT. In OFTNY the whole book was sex, but it made sense, Thats what its premise was, A weekend with no limits but one, No safeword until the end, There wasnt supposed to be another story to it, Just an introduction to who these two people were, It made absolute sense and I loved the filthy thing, But for Dual Destruction, so much more was introduced, There was a lot going on story wise, Lots of characters, lots of hits for death, and lots of power struggles with families, But I felt it all got washed away with the sex, It just felt off. Every time Id get immersed into the mystery going on, it was interrupted with another sex scene, While these are hot and amazing, I kind of just wanted the story this time, The ending was another sex scene and Im left feeling unsatisfied, I know there is a second book, but I have so many questions, The final words of this didnt seem to call out cliffhanger, but Im feeling like I didnt get all the answers I wanted, All of the other issues and characters got shoved to the background and it was just sex in the end,

I dont know, It might just be me, We shall see what the second book brings, .
