on The Little Orchard on the Lane

stories Tilly Tennant writes are always in picturesque villages, That is certainly the case with this book, with the village of Astercombe, So, when Posy arrives there, she is enchanted, drawn in by the beautiful area, However, that is not her only draw, Posy wants to reconnect with her past, She wants to filling in some missing pieces of her life, Posy is looking for her birth family and she thinks the answers lie there in Astercombe,

Agreeing to help working on a cider farm affords Posy the opportunity to meet a lot of different people, and she is not afraid to ask questions that might pertain to her bith family.
Everyone is nice, kind and helpful with the exception of her new nextdoor neighbor Lachlan, He just might be the only one not as excited as Posy to unravel the past, In fact, he makes his disdain for Posy and her many, many questions perfectly clear, In fact, this phrase comes to mind: bubbly Posy and broody Lachlan,

With likable characters Lachlan has to come around, doesn't he, an engaging plot, a lovely setting and a touching ending all play together to make this an enjoyable read.

Many thanks to Bookoture and to NetGalley for this ARC to review, This is my honest opinion, This was just an ok read, The main character should have been called nosy posy, All she did was nose around into other peoples private business and then sulk if they didnt share anything with her, But heaven forbid she share her actual feelings with them,

The names in this book were just too over the top as well, Bunch of ridiculous names.

The setting was nice but the end action and wrap up felt forced and strange, The love story did not work out for me at all, If I were introduced to posy Id run fast and far away,

My copy was provided by NetGalley for review Romcom novelist, Tilly Tennant, explores the journey to discover ones birthparents as well as a keen desire to find ones place in life, in “A Cider Apple Summer,” to be published April,.

Nursing the hurt of losing her job in London, Posy heads for the country, Its a perfect place for a fresh start and this is Posys year of fresh starts, Shes found her birth family and is anxious to connect, Armed with the adoptive mom, Carmel, they head off to meet a family who didnt know she even existed, When she arrives at Oleander House in Astercombe, Somerset, shes awestruck, Its perfect. Too bad she cant say that for the initial meet and greet with her birth family, Regardless, an awkward first meeting doesnt deter this headstrong, flitty, and rather nosy, protagonist, After all, shes got a lot of making up to do, As everyone struggles to define their place in Posys world, the path to acceptance is not straight forward, Thank goodness for a sprinkle of humour! The complicated family relationships get ironed out, the enemies become friends, and the grips on an inheritance loosen.

Youd think that Posys days were spent helping out on the cider farm and forming relationships with her new family, True, but I felt Tennant focussed a little too much on the vineyard next door, The thorn in Posys side You knew there had to be one, right Its the handsome, vineyard owner, Lachlan and Posy cant seem to get along, The textbook case of enemy to friends trope will make you smile, but Posy faces a harsh reality and it threatens her dream of country living and a fabulous family.

This relaxing and heartwarming story about opening up your heart in order to be accepted is a quick, easy read, I loved that Posy included her adoptive mom in the process of finding her biological family, Tennants characters are richly layered, and youll find yourself loving some, hating others and downright irritated by one, I did feel the plot was unevenly paced and subplots not fully developed, Perhaps this is part of a series to come In addition, the writing, unlike Tennants previous books, felt disjointed in places, Despite a few misgivings, this is a perfect mixture of a summer romance, new beginnings, second chances and trusting your heart,

Thank you to Tilly Tennant, Bookouture, and NetGalley for an opportunity to read this advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
sitelinkThis review was originally posted on Star Crossed s I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review, This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review, Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley and for letting me take part in this tour, I love Tilly's writing and I couldn't wait for this story,

This book is about more than falling in love, It's about family and friendship, Posy is very conscious that her adoptive family are not being replaced by her birth family, Posy is a sweet, kindhearted woman, She is quite selfless. She takes redundancy so that others who need the job more can stay, She offers to help Lachlan with no expectations of anything in return,

Asa was a great character, He has such a fun personality, There are some really low moments for Asa and those were really hard to read, I also loved Marella. She really brings out the fun side of Posy,

Lachlan is a real tourtoured soul, He's a gruff hottie. I just wanted to wrap him up and tell him it will all be okay, I wanted to tell him he can let it all out,

This book is a real feelgood story, It was a welcome escape from real life, Grab yourself a cuppa and snuggle down for a great read! 'An orchard is a type of farm where fruits amp nuts are grown on trees amp shrubs'

Another fab read from Tilly Tennant amp this was the perfect read for a Sunday afternoon coupled with the Spring sunshine amp an ice cold cider to hand.
I loved the setting for this book, it made a refreshing change picturesque Somerset instead of Cornwall which everyone uses, This was beautifully descriptive, immersing you into the story so you could imagine yourself there,

Overall it was a heartwarming, feel good, finding yourself story with a splash of romance, And I really enjoyed it, Looking forward to the next book now

Posy is off to Astercombe to reconnect with her birth family, Enchanted by what she sees the picture perfect Oleander House, the glorious cider farm, golden fields amp wild meadowland, she decided to help out on the farm, getting to know her family as she goes.

But does her dream life in the country come at a price

𝗜 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 The protagonist, Posy, seeks to reconnect with her family of origin.
When she finds out shes adopted, she goes to visit her uncles who own an orchard in the small town of Astercombe, Adopted as a baby, Posy discovers her birth family after she loses her job in London, She travels to Somerset to spend a few weeks with them while she takes stock of her life, Her grandmother, Philomena died and Posy was named in her will, with both of her uncles, Asa and Giles, being equally shocked having never known Posy existed.
She falls in love with Oleander House, the apple orchard and cider business owned by her uncles, and she senses that family secrets lurk beneath the surface.
With time on her hands, Posy takes to walking through the fields and one occasion bumps into Lachlan, a neighbouring vineyard owner, An interior designer, she, Posy, offers to help redesign Asas house for a few weeks and really enjoys the pace of life in the Somerset countryside.
Though Posy hopes she wont keep bumping into him, its a small village and it becomes increasingly difficult to avoid the rude, standoffish but undeniably handsome man that is Lachlan as their paths keep crossing.

Tilly Tennant's descriptions of the orchard, the vineyard and the surrounding countryside were lovely and while the story explores the relationships of Posy with her adoptive family and her birth family, it also features a slow burn romance.
The author has the ability to create characters that manage to burrow into your heart, Posy and her adoptive Mum, Carmel for instance, and others that grow on you, such as Lachlan.

This is my fourth novel by Tilly Tennant who in my experience always writes lovely stories with characters you really care about and The Little Orchard on the Lane is no exception.
Heartwarming and sweet.

This review is my own unbiased opinion,
This is the second book I have read by Tilly Tennant, the first being Cathy's Christmas Kitchen, While Cathy's Christmas Kitchen gave me Christmasy vibes, The Little Orchard on the Lane gave me proper summer vibes, The lush descriptions of the village of Astercombe in Somerset, the orchard surrounding Oleander House, the neighbouring vineyard which belongs to our brooding hero Lachlan and the entire countryside makes the whole place sound heavenly and a perfect getaway for a longish vacation.
While the setting is beautifully described, I was a bit let down by the characters' development and the love story between the MCs Posy and Lachlan felt a bit rushed.
Hence, although I liked the book it wasn't as much as I liked Cathy's Christmas Kitchen, I am still looking forward to reading the author's previous books and more of her future ones, I have also noticed that the cover designs for all her books are vibrant, colourful and just great to look at and admire,

My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture and the author for the eArc of the book,

Rating: Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for this read,
I have read several books by this author and have always enjoyed them as they are lovely, heartwarming stories which I like to read as a change from psychological thrillers and murder mysteries.

Although I loved the storyline of this book I did find it unusually slow going compared to previous books, But I would still recommend it to anyone as a lovely light amp fun summer read, A Sparkling Read

It only seemed right to enjoy a cold glass of cider whilst reading Tilly Tennants latest book on an unseasonably warm Sunday in April.

I really enjoyed Posy and Lachlans characters, they are the perfect leads, their flaws laid bare, trying to find their place in the world.
Posy is searching for answers from her past that has only just made itself know and Lachlan is hiding from his, determined to not let anyone close.

The sleepy, rural community is a breath of fresh air for Posy, who has lived her life thus far in the big smoke of London, she feels the pull of Somerset, even before she meets her family.
A family who welcomes her cautiously,

The secondary characters are as interesting as our main duo and provide some light relief along the way.

Tilly Tennants ability to describe the sights and sounds, letting me imagine myself wondering down country lanes, across fields, and even spying on a very naked man in the water, is delightful, and key to a sleepless night.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley are allowing me to read and review a copy of ACiderAppleSummer Itsfrom me!
This was cute read.
It's slow paced, and definitely feel that parts were not needed, I wish there was more banter between the love interests but all in all it wasn't bad, If you like family and taking chances then you might enjoy this one, year old Posy is contacted about her biological Grandmas will, so she heads to Oleander House in Summerset with her adoptive Mum for a meeting with Uncles that never knew she existed.

Will this be an opportunity for Posy to understand more about why she was put up for adoption and get many other questions answered
Both Posy and her mum Sandra get on well with their new found family and make good friends in the village, with exception to the vineyard owner Lachlan, a grumpy, bad mannered man who makes his dislike of Posy clear from the start.

But maybe things arent quite as they seem,
Brought up in London, Posy discovers a real love for the countryside and the more laid back, relaxing lifestyle it has to offer.

An easy, light read that I couldnt put down! I read it in a day and enjoyed it immensely! This book has great assortment of likeable characters and its such a feel good story! Thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Was like a ray of sunshine, Posys life is turned upside down when she receives news of her birth mother, But it means she has a whole new family in Somerset, The book follows Posy as she gets to know her new family, the village and its residents one resident in particular, An easy light read but part of me wants to know what happens to her next, Tilly Tennant just has the inherent ability to make me smile,

Following the story of Posy, who has just set off on a lifechanging trip from the bustling city to the peaceful countryside to meet what's left of her biological family.
Everything is different, the air is crisp, the sun is brighter, life just seems calmer, . . and she loves it. Unfortunately, her new neighbour has already decided she doesn't belong and doesn't seem to like her much, But Posy isn't going to let anything, or anyone get in the way of her newfound peace,

This was a truly sweet and warming story, with a lowkey romance burning quietly in the background, Now, this was a little slowmoving and I was left a little short with the dramatic turns, but the highlight of this book is the beautiful relationship between Posy and her adopted mum Carmel they're so stunningly written and they just warmed my heart whenever they were together.

Thank you to Tilly Tennant and NetGalley for an ARC in return for an honest review, .
