Book Description by Author:
A deployed nuclear submarine operates alone hundreds of miles from any support and hundreds of feet below the surface.

An emotionless and indifferent enemy constantly surrounds the crew, Thousands of pounds of sea pressure sit right over their heads, waiting to crush them like a tin can and send them to the bottom of the ocean.
Even the most junior sailor's mistake can result in loss of the submarine and everyone on it,

To accomplish their mission and return safely home to their families, a submarine crew relies entirely on the actions of their fellow sailors.
There is shared responsibility as well as shared vulnerability, Regardless of rank or experience, every sailor is vitally important,

When Jon Rennie reported to the USS Tennessee as a young junior officer, he had no idea what to expect.
He didn't realize he was heading out on a fouryear adventure that would change his life and establish leadership principles that he would rely on for decades.

On a submarine crew, officers and sailors work together in cramped spaces and challenging conditions to accomplish complex missions with no room for failure.
As Rennie moved into leadership positions in the business world, he found that the basic underlying principles for success at sea also led to highperforming teams on land.

Leaders succeed when they create a unified team with a singular mission when all employees perform like they are all in the same boat.

About the Author:
Cold War submarine officerturnedstartup CEO Jon S, Rennie has led nine industrial manufacturing businesses across four different companies, including Peak Demand, the company he cofounded, Prior to entering the private sector, Rennie was a nuclear missile officer on the USS Tennessee, He holds an engineering degree from WPI and a masters from Cambridge, He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with his wife and two children,
I received this book for review from Booktasters and have had a wonderful experience with it, This book combines the learnings of Jon Rennie, the nuclear submariner, with his changed role in quality control and gives some practical leadership tips for everyone to follow.

Jon Rennie takes the reader through his varied experiences and makes simple and effective points that every leader must know about.
Although precise instructions, learning from failures, standing with and for your people etc sound good in books, are they followed in organisations It takes daring initiatives to bring about these changes and Jon did just that with his role in a submarine and a manufacturing unit.

I liked the concise way in which he has made his points clear with submarine references, He hasn't sugar coated his successes or hidden his failures which makes this an honest and refreshingly imperfect read, A mustread for people in management and can be a good selfhelp book too,
I enjoyed this book very much as well as the applicable book cover,

The author tells fantastic about his own experiences in the navy, which
he compares to situations in a business.

I read many books about leadership and about Industrial and Organizational
psychology but this one is special due to the personal stories of the author.

He also makes great links and argumentations with for example facts and
figures, This book helps business leaders with clear hints,

I would recommend "All in the same boat" to all the business leaders who
want inspiration for the problems in their firm.

I give without any doubt astar rating to this very interesting book! Rennie has done a phenomenal job with this book.
I can honestly say I did not want to put it down, Its in my topfavorite books now, Rennies stories from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean to his experience in the manufacturing industry were engaging, humorous, and meaningful.
As a professional educator and department leader, I saw how his leadership experiences could convert over to my education world, I also loved the reflections at the end with the tweetable quotes and hashtags, I would encourage anyone currently in or seeking a leadership opportunity to read this book and implement it in their daily lives.
A precious book to Leaders or anyone who seeks leadership position,

Let me start by stating the fact that I truly enjoyed reading this book, I highlighted, underlined, and wrote notes of how leaders should act and react in different situations,

Jon Rennie's Book “All in the Same Boat” synchronizes with what leaders need now a days, Leaders should think about people in the organization by understanding the critical importance of every person regardless of rank, When leaders believe that the whole organization is in the same boat, they will gain powerful results,

Jons personal stories as a submarine officer and how these stories are linked to how leaders should respond to various situations resonated with the fact that leadership is a journey full of peaks and valleys that should be utilized effectively.

An echoing question from chaptergave me an insightful thought of how leaders should control the problems no matter how small these problems are before they become big and costly.
The question was “Would you run towards a fire or run away

Each chapter delivers concrete actionable lessons followed by a summary with key points, quotes, and questions to ponder.
Reflective questions are an essential part of helping leaders to review their own leadership tactics,

This book is a mustread for leaders, I enjoyed Jon Rennie's first book, "I have the watch" so was looking forward to this book, Jon did a great job of tying in his experiences in the navy, with his experiences in corporate america, Ideas for practical tools and thought provoking questions at the end of each section, This was a great book about leadership and I enjoyed reading this book, Jon Rennie reported from the USS Tennessee discussed how his crew on his four year journey on the submarine, It was great to see how everyone took roles and how things were effective, It was a great book and I enjoyed reading this story, It was great to see Jon move up and expressed leadership, I was happy with the storyline and the viewpoint and organization skills in this submarine, I felt like there were some solid leadership pointers in here,

A rec from my boss a solid approach to leading teams through challenges, successes, and lulls,

I felt like I wanted more from the end though, There was an afterward that was solid, but I think I was hoping for a more cohesive book ending for this.
I'm not the biggest fan of leadership books, I feel like they're all cliche in a way when it comes to the lessons, However, I enjoyed reading this one, The author had a way of making me want to turn to the next page and keep reading, It's filled with thought provoking stories and lessons that you can apply to any industry, If you're looking to sharpen your leadership skills, I highly recommend you check this one out, Cold War submarine officer turned startup CEO Jon S, Rennie has led nine industrial manufacturing businesses across four different companies, including Peak Demand, the company he co founded, Prior to entering the private sector,
