story. Quick read. I really liked both the leads, Peter was a brave officer, struggling with guilt over an attack, Opal is the girl who has always loved him, Imaginative story line, with some interesting characters! This is the first book in a new series,
Willowbrook is the place that she loves, How can she make the heir feel the same way about it
Robert and Lucy are the perfect pair in this novel of intriguing details and love.
Caroline Warfield writes an intriguing story,
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley, This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily, pcorrelation between statin drugs and breast cancer, Correlation between statin drugs and higher production of AA, which causes inflammation in the body, Wowthis story had so many rich pockets of life, Lucy is our heroineindependent and running an estate that is not hers, But she knows one day the owner will show up and she'll most likely be out, She's done such a good job that we are rooting for her! Robwe just love him, Poor thing finds out he's the unclaimed offspring of some rich guy and has been lied to all his life, As a hotblooded male, he storms off to fight abroad never to return, Until his halfsis summons him home, Guess what He has inherited Lucy's "home" against his will, I was deeply moved to see thesefind love in each other, Wonderful and heartwarming! A few weeks ago I learned about "the Zone diet," which was coined by Dr, Barry Sears.
According to the Zone diet, it is eicosanoids that promote wellness, not losing weight, Eicosanoids are hormones within a zone, Dr. Barry claims that most diseases are caused by inflammation, Eicosanoids control inflammation, so the key to wellness is to keep moderate amount of eicosanoids in your body,
Dr. Barry also emphasizes that the most dangerous symptom is "silent inflammation" because basically you can't notice the symptom directly but you are not well, In order to prevent silent inflammation, it is necessary both to balance three hormones Proinflammatory eicosanoids, Insulin, Cortisol and to take highdose fish oil,
To be honest, I am still not clear how to take fish oil in my daily life, but will take AntiInflammation foods such as extravirgin olive oil, sesame oil, turmeric, and ginger.
I hated this book, but gave it two because the information is good, Dr. Sears really needed to write this book for the layperson there were entire chapters that were so full of hard to understand medical jargon I thought I would have to stop reading, but anyone who knows me knows that would never happen.
And if I see the word eicosanoid one more time, I think I'll scream, Too technical, but good information if you can wade through the scientific terminology bog, I changed my rating because I have learned so much about plant based diets that I feel this is not the healthiest way to eat,
The concepts are great, the delivery just good, A lot of repetitions like most American nonfiction books written for the layman, Also, I didn't care much for the performance in the audiobook, However, I very much agree with the content and learned from this book, Lucy Whitaker was a strong willed woman and Sir Robert Benson was a proud man and the two were about to butt heads! Would they become adversaries or join forces against unknown foes
I liked the book because it had sidebars of unknowns thrown in and it kept the flow of the book moving.
I loved the characters and I loved the description of the areas because it truly sounded like a real place,
I felt the author tied the storyline together and the mystery was just enough to want me to keep turning the pages,
I would recommend this book,
I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions, Definitely thoughtprovoking!! The Lyon Sleeps Tonight by Elizabeth Ellen Carter
The Lyons Den amp extraordinarie Mrs, DoveLyon come up to scratch once again! This woman must have some amazing contacts because she seems to be able to pull off some of the most unbelievable marriage contracts! Its to bad these computer dating services doesnt have her panacea! lol
Opal Jones knew as a young girl that Peter Ravenshaw was destined to be the only man who she wanted for her husband!
Even as a debutante no longer and on the cusp of spinsterhood at the ripe old age of, I wonder what society would have called my daughter atWell, Peter returned from war a changed man, but what man doesnt My husband and son both did!! Peter felt she was in love with an ideal of the younger and more idealistic boy! Opal of course disagreed and this is where the story takes on a life of its own and enter the Lyons Den and the calculating Mrs.
DoveLyon!
This author took the Lyons Den Series Quest yet another dimension and it was done very well! The book touched on P, T. S. D. which I think is an important part of our life because not only does it factor in with soldiers, but those who suffer any type of major isolation issues and lots of other issues can have PTSD!!
I received this advanced copy from NetGalley and I willingly give my thoughts and opinions!! I have been following this series, and I believe that this is the best adventure into the Lyons Den that Elizabeth Ellen Carter has written.
Opal and Peter grew up in India as children of Royal Officers serving the Crown, Together they discover each other and have many adventures that form a close bond, But time moves on and Opal, as a young lady, is in London and Peter is serving in India, The distance causes a lapse in their relationship that makes Opal question Peters feelings, However, she does not realize that Peter has been wounded and several of his command, killed, Peter returns home a different man than when he left to serve, As Opal realizes someone must help her pursuit, she hires the one and only Mrs, Dove Lyon of the Lyons Den, The mighty Lyon of Matchmaking is only too happy to help Opal find a way to capture her love interest, For money of course, and a lovely piece of Indian Jewelry, But will it work or will the Lyon sleep through the night, stars.
Fish oil, fish oil, fish oil, I have never read so much about fish oil, Luckily, I already take it so it wasnt new news to me, The author suggests some basic common sense stuff exercise, cut out processed foods, destress, He provides an easy way to do it, It wasnt anything mind blowing or new, . . eh, it was all right, Barry sears exposes information that could improve your health and minimize the incidence of diabetes, cancer, heart attack and Alzheimer's, A worthy read. I checked out the Zone Inflammation Diet from the library and after reading parts of it, I'm done, Some of it makes sense, and some of it is over the top, Listened to the audio and purchased the hard copy, Years ago I lost quite a bit of weight and improved my health with “The Zone, I have kept the basic principles of “no white stuff” and “protein andveg” pretty well over the years and have maintained most of that weight loss, Now I amand everything hurts, so I am delving into Anti inflammation eating to see if I can feel better and perhaps drop some more pounds! The main change seems to be the addition of much fish oil, but I know my eating choices need a tuneup and this is a sensible, maintainable eating plan.
I am not going to do this on either, The things you shouldn't eat include: breakfast cereal, flour, crackers, pasta, bread, bagels, muffins, cookies, fake, granola bars, rice, potatoes, grains, sugar, butter, vegetable oil, egg yolks or canned fruits and veggies.
The diet goes on an on about eating fish and takingtofish oil pills a day, I hate fish. The thought or smell of fish makes me beauteous and always have, I don't even take the pills because the Thoth of burping up fish taste makes me want to throw up, So basically you can't eat anything processed if you want to get rid of inflammation in the body, What's left.
