Provocateur is a novel of intrigue and womanly wile that follows the path of Nadia Borodin from her poor beginnings in Russia to her role as a top earner in the agency which rescued her.

The Writing of Provocateur was not quite what I expected from the novel.
It was an easy read, but I found myself a bit disconnected and confused from time to time, The premise was fascinating, and I had no trouble sitting with the book for an hour or so at a time, but I felt like I was reading a documentary.
The author inserted little tidbits of history and some great photographs into the novel, and it proved distracting, As much as I love history, I think that it took away more than it gave to this novel about a seductress.
The narrator was also a little too omniscient, also lending to the documentary feel, Charles D. Martin provided the thoughts of various characters to us, whether it was necessary or not,

The biggest thing that confused me in the writing was when Nadia went undercover as a hostess at a yacht club, using the name "Tatyana".
During those chapters, the narrator inconsistently refers to Nadia as Tatyana, as well as the other characters who know her as Nadia.
It left me scratching my head because there was no real pattern or reason as to why, And as soon as the "job" was over, she was back to Nadia, Despite these things, I still enjoyed reading about Nadia and her conquests and was able to lose myself in the story, /Stars

The WorldWeaving of the story was good, I was able imagine myself in high society with Nadia and right there with her on her assignments, Martin is obviously knowledgeable about the upper classes and brings that  to life on the pages, I did have trouble suspending belief in a few situations extremely wealthy and successful businessmen can't possibly be THAT dumb, but it's fiction, so I just took it for what it was.

The Pace and my Attention Span I'm throwing these together here of the Provocateur was good.
It was an easy read with lots of action, It's common to find dead filler in adult novels, but even what I found to be excess history in the book was fascinating to read, all the same.

The Extra Magic in this novel was the kickass heroine, Nadia, She was able to rise from her beginning in a Russian orphanage to become a strong, confident, and successful agent, It was stressed time and again that it was her intelligence, not her sexiness or beauty, that made her special, I think that was my favorite part of the entire book, ./Stars

To satisfy FTC guidelines, I am disclosing that I received the book for free through JKS Communications in exchange for an honest review.
It has in no way affected the outcome, All opinions expressed are mine and mine alone,
This book truly was a "good read", I loved all of Nadia's adventures and, as a woman, enjoyed seeing her come out a winner after each mission, I can't wait to see if there is a sequel to see what Nadia will be up to next! Who will be her next conquest! This novel is about a strong, audacious woman and her encounters with powerful, alpha males.
Provocateur explores that aspect of the human experience that surrounds the ageold contest between men and women, It is the story of Nadia, a young Russian woman who comes to America through a mailorderbride program, She becomes employed in an enterprise operated by an exCIA agent named Olga, whose agency, through clever missions, extracts large amounts of money from wealthy men.

In her “assignments” Nadia must get the best of alpha males that are at the top of the male order.
In the novel we follow Nadia through three missions, each bigger and more dangerous, Along the way she has a brief encounter with romance, The missions are like “sting” operations beginning with a target that is a prominent CEO of a large privatelyheld company based in Los Angeles the second takes place in San Francisco at the time of the upcoming Americas Cup competition.
In that episode her target is Roberto Bartolini, the superrich, arrogant sponsor of the Italian racing team, In her third mission she goes up against a Russian oligarch in a mission that takes her into danger and to high life settings in the South of France and Porto Cervo on Sardinia.

Nadia, born an orphan, rises out of a life of poverty and despair, where she had no experience with affection, to face her struggles and take on the challenges of her “profession.
” She is a complex, enigmatic woman of superior intelligence who must “win” through her finesse and feminine prowess, I love this book! The leading lady is very complex, All women can relate to her on some level, and men probably fear her, yet desire her on some level! This book could definitely be the start of an entire series of books and movies! Provacateur is full of fascinating details about fanciful, yet plausible, escapades that make you wonder if the author or his close friends have experienced some of these stories first hand! For me, this was an American version of Memoir of a Geisha.
Both are written by male authors, which I find fascinating, And they are stories of women who must use their heads in a setting in which men prefer to view them as beautiful objects to be owned or rented.

For fans of the "high life" there is more than enough, The author, whose playground includes the highest boating circles America's cup, etc, and fabulous international travel, weaves in his world from the perspective of a destitute immigrant that soon takes men for all their worth and leaves them wanting more.
. . of what

Great summer read, even if you don't have aft, yacht to lounge on while reading,

Provocateur follows a young Russian woman as she rises from poverty to a rich life filled with excitement and adventure.
Charles D. Martin introduces, Nadia, a strong woman with a lot to learn about life, love, and the battle of sexes,

When Nadia becomes employed under Olga, a former CIA agent, her intelligence and feminine wiles are put to use, Though as an agent her skills are not used for the greater good of the world, but rather used to con rich and affluent men out of large sums of money, Nadia's assignments are still entertaining and the perfect backdrop to showcase the power women are able to achieve over men.

Martin's writing style vividly takes readers around the world while extensively detailing Nadia's missions, Amazingly, Provocateur stays focused through scenes that drag with excessive background information, The story being written in third person perspective allows insight into the minds of the men Nadia is assigned to seduce, Their reactions range from suspicious to awed at Nadia's expertise and prowess, It will be hard to not become intrigued with Nadia and her life that drastically changes from solemn to hopeful, Provocateur proves to be a universal novel with appeal for any reader!

I have never read anything in this genre and I was very surprised.
The story is so clearcut, the writing so precise, that the story engaged me immediately, Nadia, the main character, is a Russian mail order bride who comes to America and starts on her own ladder to success in every aspect of her life but in a most unusual way.
Her achievements may have become a little over the top toward the end her beauty, her intelligence, her work ethic but I personally like to believe that there are people out there who are extremely gifted.
And I would like to add that I have a small personal insight into this subject my ex did, indeed, marry a Russian lady through the mail order process.
Yeah. So I have a lot of sympathy for any woman in her position,
Mr. Martin has written a story that is so, in its own way, perfect, that I would love to know what was in his background to provoke it.
I did put other stuff aside to read it, Compelling to the end. I loved the book. Every man and woman needs to beware of Charles D, Martin's heroine, Nadia. Her current hunting ground is California among the rich and famous, She is sexy, intelligent very, beautiful very, educated and cultured, She knows what she wants, and Olga, her teacher, added the final touches to her education, This is another powerful woman from Russia, . . reminds me Catherine the Great, she too knew

how to charm a man, subdue him, and the cream on the cake was when she bedded him, After reading this book, you will want to keep your man close, Martin flatters the female sex with this book, His tale is developed slowly and demonstrates the tenacity of women, . not the clingingvine type of woman, nor the stayathomeMom, but that lean and lethal female which you might just run into one day.
