The writing still retains a lot of its disjointed nature and the editing, while still remarkably better than the first book, is woefully inadequate for anything that I would call a professional product.


There are elements in this novel series which is clearly not present in the actual roleplaying game, which does bother me somewhat and makes me want to render the entire thing as completely noncanonical.


Overall, having finished the trilogy, the actual story line is rather simplistic and lacking and not at all the sort of stakes or sense of epicness what I would expect for an entire trilogy of novels encompassing over,pages of text.
It struck me more as a minor plot point which would occur in the background while the main story unfolded, I walk away from these novels thinking "who cares" or even, perhaps more appropriately, "and"

I think I would probably recommend it still to an actual, avid Rifts fan, as it is probably the only novels and/or story in another type of media that we will ever see, in spit of Kevin Siembieda's claims of an upcoming movie for over a decade or two now to the contrary.


But, if Rifts is not your thing, or if you've never even heard of Rifts, . . I'd say stay away. I'm sure there are other, better postapocalyptic stories around, This book was a long, drawn out, and unsatisfying conclusion to an okay series, It was hands down the worst of the three and that is saying something when looking back at the first, It's too bad because the world and its characters are very

interesting but they are poorly used in this plotless, pointless, mess of random bullshit, Normally I find books that are written based on a game not so great, but this SiFi trilogy was the exception, These were great reads, fast paced and interesting, good characters and storyline, Very recommended Book three of the Rifts Tilogy,
