Experience First Comes Baby... Presented By Michelle Douglas Provided As Text
beautiful and emotional read by Michelle Douglas, This one drew me straight away because it's a friends to lovers story, which is my all time favourite trope, Meg asks her best friend Ben if he be her sperm donor so that she can have a baby before endometriosis potentially affects her fertility, Ben has no problem in helping Meg and agrees, . . until he realises he's about to be a father and that he wants to be part of his kid's life! That completely changes Meg's plans and I loved reading about the two of them overcoming all their history and insecurities.
But mostly, I enjoyed reading about two people who know each other better than anyone else falling in love, because there really is no one better to fall in love with than your best friend.
The dialogue was stilted and at times it felt more like I was reading a historical due to the language than a contemporary romance,/stars. It was a nice idea and I was really excited for this one, but it was too repetitive, too little feeling and I could not stand the Heroine, I didn't find her "tests" for Ben necessary but rather mean, And as for the rest of the story, it was too cliche with little original twist for me, E DNF
Boring, o mocinho me irritou e eu tinha acabado de reler A Proposta, da Katie Ashley, que é só o melhor livro que eu li até hoje com essa temática.
Sorry not sorry. A modern recreation of the "baby between friends" trope that really hits the mark, As always, Michelle writes warm characters in a local setting whose love for each other grows as they become more selfaware predictably gorgeous, Love this author. A slushy one to make you go awww, stars. A nice and sweet romance, set in Australia, I felt it was an interesting story, closely reflecting real life rather than a 'fantasy' story, Nicely written, but I thought an epilogue would have been good to round out the rather quick ending, I'll read more from this author, FIRST COMES BABY by author Michelle Douglas is a Harlequin Release for May,
Meg Parrish gets pregnant with donated sperm from her best friend since childhood, Ben Sullivan, As Ben was a world traveler and an adventurer, Meg planned for a sole parent family as she wanted a baby to love more than anything in the world,
But for some reason Ben now felt attracted to Meg when he saw her pregnant and blooming with his child, He also decided to become a proper Dad and give his child a two parent family, This played havoc with Meg plans, so would she accept
And would Ben stick it out and commit to a relationship after running away his whole life from one
FIRST COMES BABY is an outstanding and sweet romance with great tension, good fast pace and a fabulous plot.
Michelle Douglas once again delivered a super romance with a strong spirited heroine, a deliciously breathtaking hero and woven a tale which is filled with emotion and sizzle with a very nice happy ever after.
The witty dialogue between Meg and Ben and their relationship with their respective families is hilarious,
Highly recommended.
First Comes Baby
An uplifting new tale celebrating Mothers in a Million, Meg has always dreamed of having the perfect family, and when she learns her baby window is closing there's only one person who can help,
Ben has been Meg's best friend since childhood, Their relationship is strictly platonicexcept for that one unforgettable kiss, Helping her to become a mother is the easiest decision Ben has ever made, Only, soon he wants to be more than just their baby's "uncle, " Can he convince Meg that he's ready to do the unthinkable and settle down to be a real father I loved this book, It felt so real, I really connected with the main characters even when we have nothing in common, I felt for them, I liked them, I understood their decisions, I admired them,
This is a chicklit that feels more real than those written at the end of the XX century, There is no silly pretty girl who falls easily in love, there is no macho man who has to always look cool and is afraid of having feelings, We have an everyday couple who started up as friends and it evolved naturally,
I love this story, I couldn't recommend it more, It was decently written and I did enjoy it for the most part, I wish there was a bit more emotion in the novel and that more things were clarified, like the relationship between the heroine and her dad, also the relationship between the hero and his grandmother.
Either way, the novel kept me occupied, This is Mills Boon/Harlequin
