I recently got to hear Kristofer Collins read a full set of poetry at the East End Book Exchange, and promptly decided to buy one of his books.
My favorite line in it: "Expressing intent in a poem is meaningless,",
Collins tends to the long line in this collection, and in one or two cases it's only the capitalization of the initial word in each line that lets you know it isn't meant to be a prose poem.
The feeling is that he takes a memory, or else something he has recently seen, and works from image to meaning, The trajectory is generally fresh and surprising, often introducing a second element partway through the poem, giving the poems excellent turns,
I especially enjoyed "My Wife Goes To War With The Deer" and "Fix Bayonets",
Good work, and I look forward to more,
