Get Access Nottingham: The Sinister Side Illustrated By Steve Jones Accessible Through Document

book, more so as I live in Nottingham now, Going to the galleries of justice museum this week, This was a really fascinating book that I picked up from my local library, Living in Nottinghamshire myself, it was good to read the darker history of areas that I have walked through, blissfully unaware that had I done so many years earlier, I may not have come out again in one piece.
There are several maps, showing where each individual incident occurred, and tables showing dates, crimes and fines / sentences imposed, The book starts and ends with murders with the death sentence of hanging, but also details assaults, robberies and some very petty crimes where the severity of the punishment just does not compare at all in fairness to the actual deed.
Although at times pretty gruesome, there are also

some truly bizarre events, and more than a fair share of alcohol induced beatings, which may not be to everybody's tastes.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read about the murkier side of life, or is interested in the history of places.
My one only thought is that I would have liked a more in depth look into some of the events, although a full source list is also provided for further reading.
It is nice to see that this is printed locally too, and look forward to reading the other books in the series.
