and Solomon meet at a luxury resort, She's there to unwind for two weeks and get away from work at the behest of her friends, and he's there to see how the resort is running, because he owns it.
And then sparks fly I suppose
Let's start with Solomon being a complete asshole and a bonafide creep, In the beginning, the way he spoke about women, and then when he meets Kandace, I mean, past persistence. The firstor so pages were kind of uncomfortable for me, and I contemplated not finishing, It's a slightly older romanceso I realize that sometimes in those years they were still leaning on tropes and language that we recognize aren't really okay now, but still.
He was heavy handed with his pursuiteven when she was clear in saying no, That was cringey.
Then, as I suspected, the book mellowed out and once the romance started, so did Solomon's character, so he didn't seem so bad.
That was much better and the passion was there, but then Solomon's business partner was secretly obsessed with him and people started dying and it was bit much for me.
But I suppose entertaining enough, I also didn't like how that subplot carried all the way to the end, It took away from the romance, at least for me,
I like the author and I've read other things by her so I'll probably drift back to her again, but this one didn't hit for me.
I liked the book overall, just couldn't take his attitude and ego, it was soooo much at times, But as the book went on he got better, but still it was a lot for me, Also I felt the author didn't describe what the male character really looked like, Unrequited love, plus broken hearts, plus an Alpha male, plus hatred equals murder, Between, Atlanta, New York, and the mountains of North Carolina the plots, characters, and twist draw you in from the very beginning of the book to the very last period.
At a North Carolina resort, a sultry workaholic and a quintessential bad boy develop an intense attraction to each other, This book deserves a negative rating, It started off good and had potential for greatness then it became elementary, The characters became the most unbelievabe characters I've read in a while, How can a millionare not be able to keep a crazed woman from him How can a CEO of a multimillion dollar establishment not have background checks performed on it's employees in this day amp age.
But most of all how can he be CEO and not have deductive reasoning skills, WTD Pure foolishness.
The crazy part is that although I hate this book, I liked the author's other work, This one SUCKED ROTTEN EGGS!!!!
Get it from library or some other borrowing method, Wow! What should have been a dream come true for Solomon and Kandace, soon turned into a obsessive nightmare, Super fine Solomon was jilted at the altar and ran through women like water, as a means of erasing his pain and humiliation.
Carmen, his longtime business partner, believed that Solomon was hers and was willing to do whatever was necessary, even kill any woman who stood in her way.
Kandace better run! I truly enjoy this series, It has taken me somne time to get back to it but I enjoy everytime that
I get to visit Charlotte with the ladies.
This is my first time reading from this author, I thought the story was good, and it kept me interested the entire time, Sometimes the antics of Carmen seemed a bit unrealistic, but other than that I really enjoyed the book, Finally finished No Other Lover Will Do, . . and I have to say IMO it's the most ENTERTAINING book in the series, so far, . . even though the hero, Solomon Crawford comes off as ARROGANT and quite COCKY in the beginning, . . and even a few times throughout, . . BUT the brotha' has some MAJOR "skills" in the LOVIN' department, . . 'cause he literally CHARMED the pants off of Ms, Kandace Davis LOL this is definitely a HOT amp SPICY romance with a few SUSPENSEFUL thrills and chills throughout, . . Kandace is a very BRAVE sistah to put up with all the drama and CRAZINESS surrounding Solomon, . . I don't think I could have hung in there, . . Ms. Carmen or Chelsea is a TOTAL nutcase, . . but I am looking forward to seeing if Serena or Alicia will be the next Diva to meet their love match, Definitely a page turned.
